On the 10th anniversary of the Iraq War yesterday, Fox News’ The Five called on Greg Gutfeld to offer the lead-in editorial for a discussion affirming debating how worthwhile the war was. Gutfeld may never have served a day in his life for his country but he obviously knows military success when he sees it – and the America haters who refuse to acknowledge it! So you could almost hear the opening strains of America The Beautiful as he announced, “I’ll take this victory in Iraq over humiliation in Benghazi any day!” (H/T Kirk W.)
Yes, I’m sure you will, Greggie, especially since neither required you to move your own fanny out of a Fox News armchair. In fact, there’s a good argument to be made that cheering on the Iraq war and condemning the Benghazi skirmish (as if there were any kind of equivalence) would help you stay ensconced in same armchair.
Still, I’m sure it took a certain kind of – well, if not bravery, at least chutzpah – to make such a claim. And to say with a straight face, “The WMD was Hussein, himself,” and, “I don’t need an American-hating media to clang their naval-gazing bell, especially when things actually turned out better.” I'll bet there wasn't a dry eye in the house at such moving patriotism.
I hope you’ll have the same courage of your convictions to carry your message to some of the nearly 32,000 wounded veterans. Despite your failure to suit up yourself, that has not deterred you in the past from lecturing troops about slacking. So some of them may be looking for your upbeat message.
You could start with this guy.
IT SMELLS LIKE NAPALM AND BURNT BODIES IN THE MORNING!!!
Classy Fux, real classy …
To be fair, if I was a Jon Stewart wannabe who got told that, I’d snap too.
Really, Gutfilled?
In that case, Don Rumsfeld should see the doctor; he may be in need of decontamination:
