Geraldo Rivera was full of whitesplaining advice for Jay Z and Beyoncé as to what they should do to help improve conditions in West Baltimore. But watch what happened when he was challenged to put his own money where his mouth was.
The discussion arose from a report that Jay Z and Beyoncé have posted bail for Baltimore protesters. Rivera said he had been unable to confirm the story. But that didn’t stop him or the Hannity panel from attacking Jay Z and Beyoncé anyway.
Host Sean Hannity was intent on painting Jay Z as a crook’s best friend – and President Obama’s. Hannity described Jay Z as “hip hop mogul and former drug dealer” in the introduction. He later said about Jay Z: “Obama’s best friend, helping out the criminal elements in Baltimore.”
Guest Sherrod Small, the only African American on the panel, doubted Jay Z and Obama are best friends. But Rivera announced, “I agree that they are very friendly and I think that this would be terrible if true.”
“I would deplore it,” Geraldo continued. “If Jay Z and Beyoncé, who are fabulously wealthy, are going to make a donation to West Baltimore, I wish they would rebuild the CVS, the drug store that was burned, or invest in some of the 35,000 derelict buildings or recreational programs for teenagers for this summer rather than bail out…”
“That’s a lot more money than just bailing people out,” Small argued. “You can’t spend other people’s money for them. Maybe Jay Z and Beyoncé don’t want to do that.”
The other guest, Joanne Nosuchinsky offered her own lecture. “It’s their money. If they want to bail people out, fine. But what do you do after these kids are bailed out? They need community organizations that foster youth and community development.”
Hannity kept up the Jay Z-as-criminal talk. “Why you doin’ it for the people that burned down people’s businesses, looted people’s stores?”
Small didn’t think those were the people Jay Z and Beyoncé were bailing out. “Jay Z’s not a dumb man,” Small said. “So I’m assuming that he’s bailing out non-violent protesters.”
But Rivera jumped in to disagree. “Most of the people who were busted in that early stage were people who were directly involved in arson or more vividly throwing rocks at cops.”
Rivera again noted that he didn’t know for sure if Jay Z or Beyoncé bailed anybody out. However, Rivera kept up the whitesplaining: “I’m suggesting that it does not take a whole lot of money to invest in a drug store, the only major drug store in West Baltimore. No one’s going to rebuild it…"
So Small challenged him. “How about you and me do it? I don’t got the money but …I can work.”
Suddenly, Rivera didn’t think it was so crucial. “As Sean knows, I’ve got charities up and down my arm,” he said.
No, Rivera just wanted to give Jay Z and Beyoncé a condescending tongue lashing over something nobody knew if they had really done.
Watch it below, from the May 18 Hannity.
“Richard Santalone hits the proverbial nail on the proverbial head – ratings = $$$. That is the ONLY thing that FOX cares about.”
AMEN scooter. Since Faux Spews is always whining and bellyaching 24/7/365 about those “poor persecuted Christians”, let me remind everyone of these IMMORTAL words from the Bible:
“No one can serve two masters. He will either hate one and love the other or be attentive to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money”
In the same way, in the world of corporate owned media, HUGE PROFITS WILL ALWAYS COME BEFORE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE’S RIGHT TO KNOW!
So, Gerry — when can we look forward to you lecturing Britney Spears about Waco?

“This is the same Geraldo who went out and personally tried to pick a fight with a protestor.”
Dear Aria: That is EXACTLY what his corpulent boss Herr Goering II (i.e. Roger Ailes) is paying him BIG $$$$ to do. Always remember the cornerstone beliefs of Faux Spews:
FIGHTS AND RIOTING ALWAYS = INCREASED RATINGS
INCREASED RATINGS ALWAYS = MORE BIG $$$$ FROM ADVERTISERS
’Nuff said.
This is the same Geraldo who went out and personally tried to pick a fight with a protestor.
Yeah, the only way I could be less shocked is if it was Bill O’Reilly that said all this in yet another attempt to hide his creepy, obsessive crush on Beyonce, and Geraldo was merely backing him up.
