The death of Senator Frank Lautenberg today "effectively ends" Geraldo Rivera's wannabe candidacy for Lautenberg's seat. Since New Jersey Governor Chris Christie will appoint Lautenberg's replacement, Rivera said he is a "very, very long shot" to be named. But he would "definitely take the call" if Christie should give him a ringy-dingy.
Rivera said:
I have a very specific platform... Republicans have to moderate and have to modify their stance on a lot of issues... So although I think i have a real important message, I'm the last person I believe Governor Christie will consider right now.
But don't worry, Geraldo fans. Lautenberg's term ends in January, 2015. If Christie appoints a placeholder, Rivera could revive his candidacy next year.

I guess Governor Christie is getting the same freeze out that Sean has given Charles Grodin after he promised to be waterboarded as a charity fundraiser for our troops and their families.
We wouldn’t be surprised if Christie ran as an Independent, given the GOP’s cold reception of him.
One thing for sure, Geraldo wants to exit this fraudulent “news” nightmare called Fox. We don’t blame him. Who wants to work with the Nixon-trainee named Ailes? Or worse, The Shineman, a poor excuse of a Fox “News” executive.
If he gives the seat to next years likely winner Democrat Cory Booker then he can kiss off his chances of winning the Republican nomination in ’16. He must name someone that meets the approval of the Tea Party types in order to get back with the far right.
Does anyone know if Governor Christie been on Fox since the election?
RIP Senator Lautenberg, and thank you!
