Fox Nation Distorts George Soros' Work In Order To Demonize Him
Guest blogged by Dan
From the Fox Nation headline, "Soros Spending $50M to Battle Free-Market Capitalism," you'd expect Mr. Soros to be waving the red flag of revolution. But the real story is something entirely different.

Hannity Gives Discredited Birther Corsi A Platform To Sell His Unsubstantiated Conspiracy Theories
Discredited author and birther Jerome Corsi got a double segment on Hannity last night (10/13/09) to spin unsubstantiated conspiracy theories about President Obama and his "One World" policies. Although Corsi’s inflammatory and almost apocalyptic theories included accusations that Obama and his like-minded cronies are "post-American" and out to destroy the dollar and U.S. sovereignty, Sean Hannity never challenged Corsi to back up any of his claims. Furthermore, Hannity never noted Corsi’s record of falsehoods and wild assertions. Instead, Fox News producers promoted Corsi’s book by repeatedly showing photos of it and suggesting viewers go to Foxnews.com to hear audio excerpts of it. With video.

Just then, a "Godfather" type graphic, obviously at the ready, appeared on the screen with the "question:" "All in the family?"

Bill O'Reilly Blames Liberals (And Media Matters In Particular) For His Refusal To Apologize To Helen Thomas
Not surprisingly, there has been some media fallout after the mean-spirited attacks on Helen Thomas earlier in the week on The O'Reilly Factor. But instead of just admitting he had been a pinhead for making a boorish imitation of Thomas as the Wicked Witch of the East, O'Reilly blamed liberal groups and liberal hypocrisy for his refusal to apologize. O'Reilly obsessed about Thomas throughout his show last night (2/11/09). He also obsessed about Media Matters whom he blamed for the entire backlash (overlooking my own role, I'm sorry to say). O'Reilly wanted to send them a cake with “something inside.” Bernard Goldberg, who had also made a mean-spirited joke about Thomas, suggested sending black, dead roses. With video.
