Fox’s Ralph Peters was foaming at the mouth last night with both his hatred of President Obama and his love for the 47 Republican senators who wrote an open letter to Iran designed to undermine Obama’s nuclear negotiations with the country.
As I previously wrote, Fox put its stamp of disapproval on the letter via some tough questions from Megyn Kelly. Another sign of Fox’s displeasure was the fact that Peters appeared near the end of the Hannity show, at the tail end of Fox’s prime time, 10:50 ET.
However, clearly Hannity was on board with Peters’ rabid fulminations and never challenged a word.
Before getting into the guts of his hate mongering, Peters took a swipe at Ted Kennedy, calling him “The Naval hero of Chappaquiddick.”
Well, at least Hannity didn’t laugh.
PETERS: You want to talk about betrayal? …How about last week, when over 40 Democratic members of Congress not only boycotted Bibi Netanyahu’s presence but sided with Iran in a public statement immediately thereafter?
Only on Fox News would Democrats standing up for the U.S. president against a deliberate slap in his face by a foreign leader (Israeli prime minister Netanyahu) be characterized as “betrayal” of our country.
But wait, there’s more.
PETERS: I think the Republican letter was an act of desperation. These are patriots trying to save our security, that of our allies, and the Democrats – I mean, it’s stunning to me.
…Whether or not this was the right thing to do, (GOP Senator Tom Cotton, who drafted the letter) is a man of integrity, clearly. Combat veteran. And he’s up against these people like Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, poor Joe Biden who, you know, is making crazy statements when he’s not fondling the wives of cabinet members. I mean, what a collection we have on the Democratic side right now.
Yet, after all that, Peters had the nerve to accuse President Obama of not loving America.
PETERS: And a president, a president! Who, I’m sorry, he does not love America. He certainly doesn’t respect it. And he is so desperate for a deal with Iran that he is – he’s not selling out, he’s giving it away.
On Fox News, the more you hate on America, the more you can pretend to love it.
Watch it below, from last night’s Hannity.
Obama’s coming to LA today (where I live). When I see my right wing associate at the gym tomorrow, I guarantee he’ll complain about how the traffic was all fucked up “because of Obama.” The last time I saw him he was all upset about Hillary’s emails, but had nothing to say about the 47 senators’ letter to Iran. The Fox sheep are hopeless.
All but a couple of Fox’s “military analysts” are these relatively junior officers. Gen. Jack Keane is the only one who has any kind of real stature in the military, and the difference between his thoughtful and knowledgeable commentary — wrong in his conclusions as I think he is — and that of the rest of the Lt. Col. brigade on Fox is quite striking.
That guy is dangerous!
What in Heavens name were these 47 United States Senators thinking when they decided it would be wise to do this to our country?
To write a letter to another country to warn them that their country dealing with the Executive Office of the United States is not in their nations best interests, is complete and utter treason by any reasonable standard I can come up with.
They are seemingly unhinged and possibly will be even more dangerous in the next sophomoric stunt they are certain to pull if not reigned in.
I’ve never been so politically disgusted in my life..,. I’m so mad I could spit..
