Fox’s Liz Cheney: Obama Seems More Dedicated To Disarming Americans Than Al Qaeda

Liz Cheney visited the Hannity show last night where she joined her voice to the Fox News chorus of blaming President Obama and Benghazi for the hostage-taking in Algeria. For a few right-wing bonus points, she threw in an “Obama loves Muslims more than Americans” suggestion.

Cheney said:

We’ve got Al Qaeda resurgent and America seems to be the power that President Obama has put into retreat… The message has been sent pretty clearly that you can, you know, kill an American ambassador, kill our diplomats, attack our facilities with impunity and we see the result of that kind of a message now – and it’s hostage taking.

…I would really like to see a president, frankly, who’s as dedicated to disarming Al Qaeda as President Obama seems to be to disarming law-abiding American citizens, frankly… This president, instead of doing everything he can to keep us safe across the board, across the Middle East, he’s made America at best irrelevant.

Hannity agreed.

Yes, if only President Obama would keep us safe like Daddy Dick did(n’t)!

Would you play a tape or video clip where the President said he was taking peoples guns. Please announce the time date and station. Liz’s choice of words interests me… she would like to see Al-Queda merely “disarmed.” And she said it with a straight face on a network that thinks the whole “when guns are outlawed” line is the holy grail of pro-gun talking points.

Newsflash: We don’t “disarm” terrorists, sweetheart. We hunt them to the ends of the earth, and the ones we have no use for alive? We blow their f*cking head off.

At least, that’s how it works under this president.

truman: Don’t forget Dubya’s little infamous comment from around 2005/6 when he admitted he didn’t “think much about bin Laden.” Or the fact that, under Dubya, the whole unit dedicated to hunting down bin Laden was virtually shut down.

I know the GOPers like to forget these little “facts” (since they don’t match the GOPers’ worldview); of course, they were quick to demand that Obama give full credit for killing bin Laden and quite peeved when Obama didn’t give Dubya and Cheney any credit.
