Much of the rest of the world thinks Dick Cheney has a helluva nerve pointing fingers about Iraq, but not Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle. Where some see his attacks on Obama’s handling of Iraq as self-serving and hypocritical, Guilfoyle sees them as an expression of his “sense of obligation and a responsibility to this country, I believe, to his dying day. And that is to be admired.” She was so passionate on the subject that she got into quite the shouting match with her The Five co-hosts.
The discussion started with co-host Greg Gutfeld offering an asinine and hate-filled “witticism" about radical Islam: We’ve “got to treat it like your front lawn: You watch it grow, and then away you mow,” he quipped. “The problem with the White House is, is they care about as much about terror as they do about trees. They have the priorities of an MSNBC intern with the intellect of a hacky sack.”
I don’t know how Gutfeld’s four co-hosts didn’t descend into uncontrollable giggles.
Co-host Eric Bolling – definitely not a liberal - called it “very dangerous” for Cheney to say another type of 9/11 attack is on the horizon. “We’re always risking another 9/11,” Bolling said.
But Guilfoyle had nothing but effusive praise:
I applaud again him being vocal. He could be sitting back and enjoying retirement but he’s not. Because he feels a sense of obligation and responsibility to this country, I believe, to his dying day. And that is to be admired. I want to hear from him because he was in a position of getting all the intelligence reports and still having access and privy to what’s going on internationally – real time reports versus what we're able to get through the media. And what I’m telling you is, I think that he is genuinely concerned. What other motivation could he have? And I think he’s right. I think he’s accurate and I think we should heed his…
She was interrupted by Bolling and the two began to bicker. Later, Guilfoyule was so deep in her Cheney love that she blew up at co-host Bob Beckel when he challenged her, too: “Equip yourself with the facts and the information!” she yelled.
Beckel gave it right back:
This guy is not only bad with intelligence, he lied about intelligence and we’re making him into something he’s not. I’d rather listen to Howdy Doody! …He wants to stay on TV, he wants to be tough on Obama because he is one singular responsible for putting us into a terrible situation in Iraq.
