Fox Business’ Charles Gasparino visited Your World Monday to discuss Wall Street’s “bad bet” on Hillary Rodham Clinton in 2016. But while he was at it, Gasparino took cheap shots at New York City’s Mayor Bill de Blasio. Gasparino repeatedly called him “Comrade Bill de Blasio.” Even after host Neil Cavuto objected.
“He’s not comrade Bill de Blasio, he’s New York Mayor Bill de Blasio.” Neil Cavuto corrected.
“For some reason, “Comrade” keeps slipping off my tongue because he never apologized... aid and comfort to the Sandinistas,” Gasparino replied.
“You sound like an angry New Yorker.” Cavuto said. Later, Cavuto asked, “Will you ever stop calling de Blasio “Comrade?”
Gasparino acknowledged that de Blasio “is probably a very nice guy.” But, Gasparino added, “When he apologizes for giving aid and comfort to the Sandinistas…”
“But maybe you have to move on,” Cavuto suggested.
“I don’t think so,” Gasparino shot back.
Cavuto immediately backed off. “OK,” he said. Then Cavuto gave his stamp of approval to Gasparino. Cavuto closed the segment by saying, “Charlie Gasparino, it’s always a pleasure. He’s the best on the planet. There’s no one who comes close. They’ve tried, there’s just not one.”
Although it’s true de Blasio once worked on behalf of the Nicaraguan Sandinistas – 20 years ago - Gasparino had no proof nor any sources to back his claim that de Blasio is really a socialist. If Gasparino were really the best on the planet (or even in New York City), he would’ve done so. Also, take it from a Swedish journalist who explains why the new mayor is no socialist.
