Fox’s The Five show discussed a study that found men take more “idiotic, life-threatening risks” than women. Co-host Eric Bolling decided that that somehow demonstrated that men are more successful and better leaders than women.
BOLLING: Men clearly take more risks. We take more chances, we probably die more often taking those risks and chances, but we’re more successful, we’re more penetrators, we’re better leaders, and we’re better athletes.
Co-host Kimberly Guilfoyle interrupted. “What? Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. What are you talking about? What do you mean you’re more successful?” she demanded to know.
”Look, there should be no question that the higher the risk you’re willing to take, the higher the reward you will ultimately get with success. So there are some failures. Yes, you die, but that’s some of the downside to taking higher risks.”
Guilfoyle added, “He just proved my point because that was a duuuumb statement.”
Co-host Dana Perino said, “I don’t think he really means it, and I think he’s hoping it’s going to get on Mediaite, and then we’ll have a big fight. You can’t say that you think that men are more successful than women and not expect that you’re going to get some controversy for it.”
”Look at this table. Look at the women at this table,” Guilfoyle said.
Bolling offered no evidence to back up his sexist remarks.
You may recall that Bolling recently had to apologize after referring to a female fighter pilot as “Boobs on the ground.”
