Once again, dear readers, it is time for you to review the past week's outrageousness on Fox News and help us pick the MOST Outrageous Quote of the Week. This week's assortment includes Islamophobia, sexism, revival of "death panels" talk and racial accusations against Oprah! But while many can be nominated, only one can win the title of Outrageous Quote of the Week. The choice is up to you!
And the nominees are...
1. Alisyn Camerota: “Some are saying that Democrats are actually a war on women.”
2. Bill Cunningham, blaming A-Rod and just about every other modern scandal on Bill and Hillary Clinton: “(W)hen Clinton turned the Oval Office into the Oral Office, that became a big problem. And now every politician from Anthony’s Weiner to the mayor of San Diego now wants to use Clinton as a role model (thinking) ‘I can brave this thing out. I can smear my opponents, give my girlfriend some benefits, pay off a few people’ and Clinton stayed in office. I think when history is written, 1997 and 1998 will be a watershed moment. When Clinton got away with that, all hell’s broken loose ever since. I blame Hillary and I blame Bill.”
3. Erick Erickson, taking the low road in a tweet about Texas State Senator Wendy Davis: “It is a bit embarrassing that Abortion Barbie doesn’t even have her facts straight on Kermit Gosnell considering abortion is her issue.”
4. Andrea Tantaros: “They (Muslims) have been fighting us since the days of Benjamin Franklin. …They want to kill us. They’re not going to stop until everybody in this country is a Muslim or is ruled by Muslims. No matter how nice we are. …They want a Caliphate.”
5. Rep. Louie Gohmert, arguing that Republicans are threatening to shut down the government to protect “the little guy” from Obamacare: “We don’t want a shutdown, we want to fund the government …but people are actually gonna get hurt. They’re not gonna get the pacemaker, they’re not gonna get the help they need. We’re doing this for America, for the guy that’s making $14,000 that will ultimately have an extra 2 ½ percent tax, because Obama went after the little guy in Obamacare. We’re doing it for those people and we need to stand up but there is pressure.”
6. Michael Meyers, accusing Oprah Winfrey of being a chronic race baiter. “I always regarded her as racial. …She beats that racial breast-beating drum all the time.”
7. Mike Huckabee: “Muslims will go to the mosque, and they will have their day of prayer, and they come out of there like uncorked animals — throwing rocks and burning cars.”
8. Todd Starnes, showing his not-so-sophisticated take on U.S./Russia relations: “Obama’s beef with Russia is less about Snowden – more about gay rights.”
9. Sarah Palin, arguing that she was right about "death panels": “It’s in black and white in the law, that there will be rationing of health care.”
