Last night, Fox News contributor Dr. Marc Siegel once again complained about Obamacare. His beef? Too many people will get medical attention as a result. Only on Fox News would a doctor who wants people to get less health care be on the payroll. And be allowed to air this bellyaching repeatedly.
On the Hannity show last night, Siegel said:
Before they started this, we were all in trouble with insurance to begin with. There’s too much health insurance. It covers too much.Too many people have it and they can’t get in my office to see me. I’m full. …I can’t see all these people.
There’s a shortage of doctors. So what do they do? They’re going to pay us less.
As I wrote in my post on Addicting Info (where I go into more detail):
Sadly, this is far from the first time Siegel has made such comments on Fox’s airwaves. Last month, Siegel also complained people will get too much health care under Obamacare. In August, he griped that the Affordable Care Act’s “entitlement coverage” will cost him and his already-covered patients too much. He said, “If you can’t get in to see us or we’re ordering very expensive tests that are variable prices, there’s no way that we can afford it, there’s no way we can keep practicing medicine the way we want to.”
Or to put it another way, as far as Siegel is concerned, health care is only for the elite who can afford it. And let’s make sure there are not too many of those so that his pocketbook doesn’t suffer. As for everyone else? Well they can just go bankrupt from medical costs or stop clogging up doctors’ offices altogether and die quickly.

In any event, I think we have a good nominee for our next Outrageous Quote poll.

OK — who’s engaging in “class warfare”, again??
.
Guess how many fingers I got up, Siegel…
He’s an embarrassment to the profession, but sadly,he’s hardly alone.
