Yesterday, Fox Nation reported that a bystander threw water at Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake while she was at a public event. Rawlings was unharmed, the attacker was arrested and it would have been a nothing burger had it not happened in a city where there has been so much unrest lately. But never let it be said that the “civil” and “tolerant” Fox Nation community misses a chance to wish harm on others.
Many of the comments on the Fox Nation post about the attack on Rawlings-Blake were run-of-the mill hostile: cheers for the assault, sneers about black-on-black crime and Wicked Witch of the West jokes.
But a good number were far worse: wishing she had been doused with acid or chum or urine. And one commenter complained Rawlings-Blake had not been doused with gasoline. That got a reply asking for a light:
One day later, those comments are still there.
Yeah, so Jesse Watters (managing editor of Fox Nation), about your claim that "Fox Nation is committed to the core principles of tolerance" and "civil discourse"...
