Fox’s On The Record has a new series called “The Deciders” that purports to look at “the ones who could swing the 2016 election,” as host Greta Van Sustere put it. But so far, she has forgotten to mention that she’s only interested in the ones who could swing the election for Donald Trump - and that they probably won’t .
Part One aired Monday night and was called, “’The Deciders’: Voters in blue, swing states going Trump.”
In it, Fox’s Griff Jenkins visited Youngstown, Ohio. Trump-loving Van Susteren gushed that Youngstown is “a historic Democratic stronghold that has now seen Donald Trump’s blue-collar message resonating with voters!”
If you only watched this report for your information, it would seem that everybody in Youngstown is voting Trump, with many voting Republican “for the first time in decades.”
“No Republican has ever made it to the White House without Ohio,” Jenkins helpfully noted, but without mentioning how representative Youngstown is of the entire state. If that made you immediately suspicious, that made two of us. With good reason. FiveThirtyEight.com’s forecast, which currently gives Hillary Clinton a nearly 71% chance of winning the election, also gives her a nearly 60% chance of winning Ohio.
Nevertheless, there was plenty of time for Jenkins to get workers to explain why they are “starving for a change” and about Trump’s appeal.
In the second part, which aired last night, Jenkins talked to coal miners in Ohio. Van Susteren enthusiastically described them as “typically Democrats, but now – well, they’re warming up to Donald Trump!”
“Coal country is Trump country!” Jenkins exclaimed. And, of course, we heard lots of reasons why. Still no mention about the entire state, though.
Jenkins promised that the next part will show “why this issue of trade is resonating so strong in switching people to Trump.”
Watch the first two parts below, from the July 11 and 12 On The Record, respectively.
In the same vein of FOX “news” presenting Trump as the “winner”, watch the below laughable video from today’s F&F. Of course, there was no one from the left to critique Trump’s comments but that’s not necessary when Daddy Douchey and F&F are actively trying to put Trump in the White House.
