On yesterday’s America’s News HQ, hosts Bill Hemmer and Alisyn Camerota came up with questions that just happened to suggest viewers should dismiss President Obama’s upcoming State of the Union address before he delivered it.
Hemmer opened the show with the introduction, “President Obama hours away from addressing millions of Americans, but are the American people even listening?”
Camerota got right with the program, too. She quickly cited an ABC News poll saying that 63% aren’t confident that the President will make the right decisions. She asked guest Juan Williams, “So given this lack of confidence that the American people have, does it matter what the President says tonight?”
Williams threw it back at her. “Well, Of course it does. He’s got the bully pulpit Alisyn, and so he’s gonna try to make the case that he is still the President, and still capable of leadership and say that he is reasserting himself, commanding leadership and trying to say to them he’s worthy of their trust.”
If President Obama were a Republican, do you think either host would have asked such questions?
