On Saturday’s Cashin’ In show, the panel discussed the EPA’s claim that it has authority to garnish wages without court approval. The discussion quickly turned into an indictment of the EPA. Host Eric Bolling set the tone in his opening when he said, “Well, save the polar bear but screw the taxpayer.”
Bolling called on panelist Jonathan Hoenig first, almost certainly knowing he’d come up with an inflammatory soundbite.
Sure enough, Hoenig said, “What is the EPA? Unelected bureaucrats writing arbitrary laws impacting and restricting your ability to live. …It’s the hatred of man for animals sake.”
Bob Beckel was the only person on the EPA’s side. “Only you guys would put this up. It has nothing to do with polar bears, it was about breaking emissions standards. And if you break emission standards, you ought to pay a fine.”
Panelist Michelle Fields interrupted to announce, “If there’s any agency that needs to be eliminated, it’s the EPA.”
Beckel countered, “Well fine, when you get there, do that. But in the meantime, there are regulations that you can only emit so much dirty air. And every year, Republicans try to do away with the Clean Air and Clean Water bill. And you know, I can understand where they’re coming from. ”
Panelist Wayne Rogers said, “The administrative government (is) out of control. …We have a fascist government by administration, not by law.”
But Bolling may have taken the cake. He “asked” Fields, “Eco-terrorists, EPA?”
Not even Fields would go that far. She said, “Well look, I think that they do more damage than any SUV can do to this economy. They’re destroying our society, they’re destroying businesses, they’re destroying jobs, I say get rid of them.”
“I’m going to have to agree with that,” Bolling added.
Look at these graphs from Legal Planet. Emissions are down, which improves our air quality, thanks to the EPA. Do Fields et al. want to breathe dirty air?
