Bill O'Reilly's stalker/ambush producer, Jesse Watters was a guest co-host of Fox & Friends Weekend this morning where he bravely did his part to save Easter from the evil forces who want to ruin it with "spring egg hunts." He was helped with that endeavor by birther and affirmative action foe, Professor Carol Swain.
Swain told a sympathetic Watters, "“I can tell you that if we remove the name “Easter,” then we might as well call them ‘pagan egg hunts.'"
Please check out my post at Crooks and Liars for more on this wingnuttery.
But first, thank God the Spring Bunny that there's only one week left until Easter Pagan Day.

Well, there is still the war on Lent, war on the 4th of July, war on presidents day, MLK day, war on Chanukah and the war on thanksgiving. Plenty of wars left for Foxnews to sink their teeth into.

Next up is Memorial Day. I remember it from last yr. on Faux. O’Loofah complaining about the low crowds at Memorial Day parades or the lack of them in some places, blaming liberal indoctrination in schools that keeps kids from attending parades. I don’t remember him using the words “War on Memorial Day”, but he, as usual, stressed how “the far-left” has ruined Memorial Day by teaching kids that America is the bad guy and we shouldn’t celebrate war or the military.
Also, I’ll give $100 to the first person who smacks that smirk off Watters face. I would do it myself, but he has a tendency to run and hide when confronted by anyone who isnt on Faux’s payroll.

The funniest part of that “F&F” program was when Betsy McCahey(sp?) was on to discuss “Obamacare.”
Clayton sat there listening to her with a serious look on his face, as if she was a serious news story, while Watters had a smirk on his face and looked around the studio as if to see if anyone else thought this woman was as crazy as he clearly thought she was!
Priceless!

If these “warriors?” had any knowledge of the subject they would be familiar with the term “syncretism” which occurs when different belief systems compete. As Christianity sought to evangelize the world it absorbed indigenous beliefs and gave them Christian explanations. It made it palatable for the clergy to sell the product to an often hostile populace. Back it with economic domination supported by military superiority and European colonialism happens.

Exactly nine months from today is Christmas Day, so I guess they something fill the gap.
On this war on Easter, I only hope that my beloved Peeps aren’t hit in the crossfire, but to be safe, just do what you always do Fox and declare victory, then go to church to pray for the death and destruction of those who don’t agree with you. Once that’s finished you can go home and get drunk.

Well, seeing that FoxNews is the network who leads the attack on things like “fair reporting”, “the Truth”, “Obama” and “common decency”, it is not surprising that they now want to create a war on the non existing “war on Easter”.
Warmongering seems to run in their blood.

What do eggs, and egg hunts, bunnies and candy have to do with Easter anyway? One would think people of such a high religious sensibility would concentrate their thoughts on the actual religious (Jesus) part of the holiday. These people are buffoons and fake Christians.

Maybe someone needs to remind the Fakes and Fiends that the very word “Easter” derives from an ancient Germanic goddess, Eostre (also known as Ostara, or possibly Austra). What’s also interesting is that only English and German use this etymology. In nearly every other European language (Spanish, Russian, French, Swedish, Greek, Irish Gaelic), the local term for Easter is related to the Hebrew festival of Passover (in Hebrew, Pesach).
Of course, this would’ve required the Fakes and Fiends to have done a little research (a word, like facts, that terrifies right-wingers).

Am I the only person who thinks this particular “War on” meme is stupid as hell- even for Fox News?
