On yesterday's America Live, Pat Caddell spoke about the President being joined by children at press conference on a new gun control plan. He was allowed to talk uninterrupted for almost a minute as he bashed President Obama. Megyn Kelly asked if Obama had gone “beyond the pale.”
Caddell said:
"This is just a continuation of being juvenille to some extent, and claim, you know, the card that he has... I haven't seen anyone since Richard Nixon; it's the same instinct for being isolated, for being surrounded by cronies, and making up things the way he does. This is not Ronald Reagan, it's not Jimmy Carter, it's not even George Bush, for God sakes. It's a little bit much. The children thing is I think right over the top so that he can propose executive actions, says I don't need the Congress... He's really pushing the envelope here."
Nixon? Caddell surely knows Obama is nothing like President Nixon.
Psst . . . hey, Pat: President Obama not being George Bush — either one — is a good thing.
As for likening Obama to Tricky Dick:
- Obama did not (unlike Nixon) take a weeklong photo-op trip to China last February for the sole purpose of propping up his ratings ahead of his reelection
- Obama did not (unlike Nixon) order the burglary of RNC headquarters, then attempt to cover up both the break-in and his authorization
- Obama did not (unlike Nixon) campaign in 2008 on a promise to end an unpopular war, only to expand that same war upon taking office
Sorry, Pat — the resemblances to Nixon? I’m just not seeing it . . .
.
Nixon? I think it goes without saying if Fox News were around during Watergate what side they would take, especially with Roger Ailes connections with Tricky Dick’s administration.
