d d,
Thanks for the link. I did see the ad. I just didn’t pay attention after the first few seconds when I got the gist.

I can’t remember at what point in the debate it aired but it was quite a bit into it (closer to the end of the debate than the beginning I think).
At first I didn’t realize what it was about until I saw the red (commie red, of course) banner with her face and the face of some man (the below link says the male face is of the CFPB director, Richard Cordray) which got me going “huh”? Then I realized it was an attack ad. I just checked and Mother Jones also has the ad and a short article about it here: http://www.motherjones.com/mojo/2015/11/elizabeth-warren-cfpb-gop-debate-ad

d d,
I never saw that Warren ad. I don’t know if I missed it or if it just didn’t air on DirecTV.

Some really long commercial for a Benghazi movie is playing. #perfect

Did anyone catch the scary Soviet-esque commercial that the conservative American Action Network ran against Elizabeth Warren and her Consumer Financial Protection Bureau during the debate? It painted Warren and the CFPB as communist and used scare tactics to frighten the viewers into thinking that the CFPB is going to get in the way of ordinary Americans financial dealings (such as applying for car and mortgage loans, etc.) and deny help to those Americans who need it the most. It was an utter piece of bullish!t. However, I read just a bit ago that Warren started a twitter firestorm and pushed back against the propaganda. Good for her!

Yeah, EOF. I turned it off for a while, and when I came back, no more economics. Maybe it won’t be so scripted now?

I think I’m out of here folks. They couldn’t make this more boring if they tried. Though, I could forgive them that if it was at least informative but this is endless softballs and unchallenged stump speeches.

Recall Cavuto’s opening statement on how they’re going to doggedly stick to all things economic? So now Maria is talking Obama putting 50 special ops troops in Syria.
Seriously?

Did Rand just chop The Donald off at the knees over trade?

Immigration was division #1. Waving the flag over defense is #2.
Rand hit the massive hypocrisy of the Republican Party. They demagogue – like Ted Cruz is doing now – balancing the budget then trumpet how much they’re going to bloat the DoD.

Freudian slip? Did I hear Rubio say the most important job is being president after saying the easy applause line it’s being a parent?

Way to go, Rand. You win this round. You beat Ben by .5% on tax rates.
Oh… but wait. We have a new bidder! Ted Cruz! No taxes up to ~$36k and then 10%.
Do I hear 5%? Going… going… gone!
I’m a big fan of the Laffer Curve. I say drop taxes to 0% and watch the money roll in!

It might just be me but I’m not really learning much about the candidates. This debate isn’t just mostly dull, is as informative as… come to think of it… your typical Fox News broadcast. Never mind.

Thank you, Maria, for following up your softball with another one simply asking Carli to actually answer the question. Which she really isn’t but Maria did try. Sort of.

Ellen,
Yeah, the only interesting in this otherwise snoozer is the division over immigration reform.

I usually get a kick out of listening to candidates and then fact-checking afterwards. After the 1st round tonight, I’m so overwhelmed by lies and bullcrap, it’s not worth the effort. Let the pros do it.

Trump says he built companies worth “millions and millions of dollars” and he doesn’t “have to hear from you” to Kasich.
Trump got booed.
Now Bush is telling Trump his is not the American way.

Truman,
You’re right. This softball format is ridiculous. They could cover this by rotating “Fox & Friends” appearances where the 3 curvy couch bobble-heads lob softballs while swooning on cue.
Though Maria just did actually bother with a follow-up for a change and we’re finally getting some back and forth between Trump and Kasich. So maybe there is some hope.
