Saturday Night Live Sends Up Fox News Election Coverage
Funny!! SNLers impersonate Greta Van Susteren, Karl Rove, Brit Hume, Shepard Smith, Juan Williams and Glenn Beck, discussing how election night represented the end of the Obama era. After all, it's been 10 months and Obama has not turned around the economy yet. With "Joe Trippi" for balance, Fox News style. "Beck" is perfect!

Rep. Joe Wilson Lies On Your World… And Neil Cavuto Lets Him Get Away With It
Guest blogged by Brian
On Wednesday’s (11/4/09) Your World, Rep. Joe Wilson (R-You lie!) was interviewed about President Obama's health care bill. When asked about Congress going forward in the wake of the previous day’s election returns, Wilson said, "It's actually arm twisting to secure the votes… The 2000 page bill is a bill, which is a takeover of a significant portion of our economy. It's not being thought through...It's taking advantage of the American people. Attacking senior citizens, attacking small business." Comment: BarackObama.com says Obama’s plan "protects Medicare for seniors.” and "provides small business tax credits." You lie, twice, Rep.Wilson!

Where's Fox News? Police Called In NY-23 Over Voter Intimidation
John Amato at Crooks and Liars noted, "The teabaggers are turning to threats and intimidation out there in NY-23 land" and cited this article from Elizabeth Benjamin in the NY Daily News: "It's getting ugly out there. I just got off the phone with former state Democratic Chairwoman June O'Neill, who informed me the police had been called to at least two polling sites in St. Lawrence County due to overzealous electioneering (O'Neill called it "voter intimidation") by Doug Hoffman supporters." Amato wrote, "Gee, I wonder if Fox News will cover this voter intimidation and try to make a national story out of it. OK, I was joking."
So I took a look at Foxnews.com, where they perennially worry about voter fraud (by Democrats) and... nothing. There is a headline "asking" if this is a "day for great expections." Screen grab after the jump.
Blatant electioneering for Chris Christie on Fox News
After a lengthy segment promoting the candidacy of Doug Hoffman, Sean Hannity hosted Dick Morris for another push for Republicans on Election Day. This time, the stumping was for Chris Christie, Republican gubernatorial candidate in New Jersey. But instead of just talking up the candidate, Morris turned to the cameras and made an overt plea for viewers to vote for Christie. Hannity did not object. With video.

Conservative candidate for Congress in upstate New York, Doug Hoffman, got a lengthy segment at the beginning of Hannity last night (11/2/09), for a last minute campaign stop disguised as an interview. Sean Hannity carefully noted in his introduction that Hoffman had received endorsements from Sarah Palin, Tim Pawlenty and others. Appearing with Hoffman were two of his boosters, the out-of-towners (some might call them “carpetbaggers”) Fred and Jeri Thompson. Jeri Thompson enthused over the fact that Hoffman is “not a politician” but “A CPA… a small businessman that knows what the Pelosi agenda’s gonna do. So God bless him for doing it.” While Thompson was eager to let us know what a good Christian she is (she later uttered “Amen” and “Bless you, Sean”), she was a lot less interested in making sure the public knew much more about Hoffman. The only other thing we learned about him was that he’s – supposedly – a real conservative, unlike the former Republican candidate, Dede Scozzafava, who has since dropped out of the race. But nobody told the “we report, you decide” network’s viewers that, as real New Yorker Frank Rich noted in The New York Times, Hoffman does not even live in the district, he has shown “no grasp” of local issues, and despite the constant crowing about his conservative bona fides, Hoffman is on the finance committee of a hospital that "happily helped itself to a $479,000 federal earmark." With video.
