Ed Henry was back on The O’Reilly Factor tonight to help Bill O’Reilly once again use Benghazi to suggest that President Obama will somehow flub the Boston Marathon bombing investigation. Of course, there’s almost no similarity between a bomb going off in the middle of an American sporting event and a firefight at a CIA compound in Libya. But an opportunity to smear President Obama is one that “objective” Henry just couldn’t turn down. Especially since O’Reilly had already signaled to him earlier in the week that that’s what he wanted.
In fact, Henry and O’Reilly spent much of the segment praising President Obama’s address in Boston today. But just as I was thinking that maybe Henry isn’t ALWAYS a mouthpiece for Republicans - well, he turned into one again.
At about the four-minute mark in the video, Henry suddenly suggested that the Boston Marathon bombing investigation might be ineffective. Henry said, his voice dripping with disapproval, “He (President Obama) keeps saying justice will be served…"
O’Reilly interrupted. “He’s going to have to. Because of the Benghazi fiasco. They still haven’t solved that.”
Henry looked like he was trying to keep a smirk off his face as he said that Secretary of State John Kerry had claimed, “’No, no, we’ve made a lot of progress. The FBI has a lot of leads.' Look, it’s seven months later and nobody’s been brought to justice here. It’s not about Benghazi vs. Boston in terms of the facts. Two different terror attacks. The point is, the president made a lot of promises after Benghazi about bringing people to justice. His words are going to be held accountable.”
Of course, the FBI already has photographs of suspects. I'll bet that there's at least one arrest within a week. But don't worry, Ed. I'm sure you and Fox News will find another way to use Benghazi to smear Obama before long.
On the one hand, they constantly portray him as a “wannabe dictator” who “is taking all our rights” and “wants to take away our guns.”
But on the other, every time an unforeseen event occurs, such as the Boston Marathon Bombing or the Deepwater Horizon Gulf oil spill, those same rightwingnuts not only expect the President to solve the problem personally, they expect him to solve it immediately.
During both events, the two most often heard statements coming from the rightwingnuts were:
- “he can’t/won’t fix the well/catch the bombers” — as though it was the President’s responsibility to both plug the leak and lead the police investigation himself, and
- “what’s taking so long? Why hasn’t this been resolved?” — even as work on the rig was ongoing and one bombing suspect had been killed while the other was on the run
.
But the difference is still outlined in the extents they started forcing brown non-Christians down everyone’s throats. CNN verbally refused to acknowledge it could be anyone else, Fox News actively tinted video and airbrushed photos to make them brown.
Difference between a skidmark and a turd, I know… but Fox still won the grossout contest.
“And the POS Sean Hannity, is he going to call President Obama OUR President or continue calling him the most divisive President in History?”
Oh, KKKlannity WILL call President Obama OUR president AAP
:^)
Look at history! Bush never caught OBL because he’s incompetent. He wouldn’t heed the intel of the August 6 Presidential Daily Brief titled “Bin Ladin Determined to Strike in US”. You see, some people are just chronic failures!!
Rupert Murdoch’s media organizations will never be convicted of phone hacking because no one at Fux knows what the Fux this hacking thing is.
I’d decided not to watch Fox for fear of having a stroke but found CNN to be more than anxious to pin the attack on some other “ethnicity” [sic].
Although the two security specialists – to their credit – kept on saying there was not enough evidence in any direction, Piers Morgan and others kept on bringing the possibility back to the fore.
CNN is FoxLite.
If this is real, these two are officially the face of the news coverages’ lowest point of stupidity. The only saving grace I can think of for either one is that the MIT fiasco started at 10:30- 90 minutes after the episode ended. Everything else has at least three ways of being a new low, even for Fox.
And this may be a bit off-topic… but did anyone else catch that the white hat guy’s photos are brown tinted? I find that interesting because that dude is pale on the FBI’s website, yet he looks almost like a dark-skinned Middle Easterner on every Fox show that did that.
I’m just pointing it out here because it’s readily available.
1) an event that happened in the middle of the day in the middle of a city in the USA with surveillance cameras all over the place, is in some way comparable to
2) an event that happened in the dead of night, with no power hence lights, in a remote corner of a country emerging from a bloody civil war.
That’s pretty mind-boggling even for them. While Miller is irritating (like a pesky fly), Bill is seriously deranged.
Early onset of senile dementia? I don’t recall him being so totally and shamelessly illogical five years ago.
