Apparently, today’s two most prominent alleged sexual predators, Donald Trump and Roger Ailes, are no longer the buddies they used to be. So said two of the most prominent Fox reporters at today’s Vanity Fair New Establishment Summit.
Ailes, recently driven out of Fox News after multiple allegations of sexual harassment, has been a long-time friend of Trump’s. After leaving Fox, Ailes was reportedly assisting the Trump campaign. Since then, the campaign has been rocked by a video of Trump boasting about sexual assault, followed by a slew of women claiming to be his victims.
But while you might expect these two to be soulmates these days, apparently, the opposite has happened.
From Vanity Fair:
The reason for the fallout depends on who you ask.
“Ailes’s camp said Ailes learned that Trump couldn’t focus—surprise, surprise—and that advising him was a waste of time,” [New York magazine’s Gabriel] Sherman said. “These debate prep sessions weren’t going anywhere.”
On the Trump side, [Vanity Fair’s Sarah] Ellison said the story is different: “Even for the second debate, Ailes kept going off on tangents and talking about his war stories while he was supposed to be prepping Trump.
For what it’s worth, I predicted in August, 2015, not long after the Trump/Kelly feud broke out, that Ailes and Trump would “continue to get along when their interests converge and continue to snipe when they don’t.”
By the way, Vanity Fair also reported that Sherman will be working on “a limited series based on the Ailes saga.”
No actors have been cast yet. Who would you like to see play Roger Ailes?
In the meanwhile, watch this snippet of discussion with Ailes and Ellison about the future of Fox News, from the summit.

After Ailes tried to counsel ‘maverick’ Sarah Palin regarding her presidential aspirations back in a day only to see his efforts end in an epic fail, you’d think Roger would have known better than try to advise ‘unshackled’ (unhinged?) The Donald. Apparently, after the pair of perverts were done sharing tips on how to grab unsuspecting women by the genitals they had nothing left to discuss.
Back to Fox News, without Ailes it’s more dishonest and biased than ever. Catherine Herridge – who’ve I’ve caught lying in the past to spin right – is busted by Maddow misrepresenting the quid pro quo State Department/FBI ‘scandal’. Now I’m watching “The Five” and ‘Campaign’ Carl Cameron – who I’ve also caught lying in the past – is misrepresenting the story of why Bill Clinton might not shake Melania Trump’s hand in Debate 3.
I can’t wait until November 8th (the 28th on Trump’s calendar) so I can play Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide”. “Climb a mountain and turn around And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills Well the landslide brought me down"
Then I’ll enjoy the week after election day watching all the tears on “Fox & Friends”. ;^)
If you are serious about politics, you campaign hard. LBJ used to get the hives while campaigning and would just worry/work his poor campaign staff to death.
Hillary and Barack have both been there.
Perhaps the reason for the fallout is simple. Roger doesn’t want to be associated with this loser. Proving that even scum has its standards.
