Charles Gasparino's comments about being a good Catholic (think "Merry Christmas") handily won him The Most Outrageous Quote of the Week award this week.
To refresh your memory, Gasparino's comments were made during a discussion in which he criticized Pope Francis' criticism of unfettered capitalism. Gasparino said:
I’m a card-carrying Catholic, I believe in the good lord and I always say ‘Merry Christmas’ but no system in the world has put food in people’s mouths more than capitalism. Surely not the Catholic Church. Capitalism has done it.
Gasparino won 93, or 36%, of the 257 total votes cast. You can view the entire poll and full results here.
I'll start work on a new Outrageous Quote of the Week Poll as soon as this post is published.
