Whatever your feelings about Fox News host Bret Baier, you have to want the best for him and his family as they deal with his six-year old son's third open-heart surgery.
As TVNewser explained,
Paul Baier was born with 5 congenital heart defects. He’s undergone 7 angioplasties. And this is his third open heart surgery — the first in more than 5 years. On his blog yesterday, an emotional Baier said, “Paul’s in great spirits. He’s a fighter and we’re going to fight right alongside him. It’s not easy, but we’re going to plow through and he’s going to have long happy life.”
Although I can't seem to embed the video of Baier's vlog post, you can watch it here.
Judging from Baier's Twitter feed, it looks like son Paul is doing well.

I rather think and earnestly hope he can. After all, American medicine is undeniably the best in the world, if one has the means to pay for state-of-the-art treatment. And that’s reportedly the situation with Bret’s little boy (here’s rooting for you, kid! )
Equally undeniable is that American medicine as a system has been recognised as one of the worst systems in the world (37th on the World Health Organisation scale, i.e., after several developing countries) because a statistically relevant share of the population simply cannot afford to pay or have to choose between food on the table and saving the life of one member of the family.
The fact that certain Americans are so proud to call themselves “Christians” and then, in the very same breath, rail callously against any proposal aimed at correcting this deeply un-Christian situation (e.g., AMA) has perplexed other countries for decades.

We wish little Paul a speedy recovery. He’s pulled through before. He has youth on his side. Brett takes very good care of his son.
NOTE TO JOE
Hannocchio already ruined his two children. They are beyond spoiled. One of them will probably be a problem later in life.
Hannocchio is a food junkie. He eats high fat, high calorie foods like cheeseburgers, sodas, fries, steaks, unhealthy sandwiches, and loves his beer and coffee.
He has a pot belly that he keeps hidden with large clothing. He looks pregnant.
Shhh…there is a cafe inside News Corporation. They serve sandwiches, beverages, salads, and other garbage..err..food.

And Dave, as much as I agree with you on that point, it’s still not cool to say out loud.

I would like to think that none of us — no matter how repulsed we are at their on-air words and antics — would wish any harm or suffering to FNC staff and their families.
Even me… as much as I lick my chops over the vision of Slanthead getting mowed down by a SWAT team when he pulls out his two Glocks and three AR-15s as he goes ballistic because he was cut off on the LIE by a van full of little brown dayworkers.
Truth is, Hannity is hell bent on destroying his own life and that of his children with his diet. Heart disease, Adult DM, etc., are just around the corner as he shovels those Big Macs into his and their mouths.

From truman’s post:
“Millions of uninsured children will finally get their health care when Obamacare is implemented. I wonder if Bret even thinks about that when he constantly bashes Obamacare.”
Mark my words truman: the instant Bret Baier starts thinking for himself, Jabba the Ailes will PINK-SLIP HIM IN LESS THAN 48 HOURS!
’Nuff said.

Best wishes to Paul for a speedy recovery. I hope he enjoys having his health coverage while his dad and the rest of the people at FauxNoise want to keep it away from millions of people like myself.

Fervent best wishes to the lad and his family.
And, as doors17 wrote: one in need should ever be turned away or suffer for want of empathy on the part of others.

I also would like to send my best wishes to Mr.Baier’s son to have a complete and full recovery and that he grows up to have a healthy and full life.
We can disagree on issues and vote differently but we must put that all aside on what’s really important. To get political I guess it shows the importance of affordable health care for everyone. Health care is a right that must be shared equally regardless of what a person’s economic situation is. No one in need should ever be turned away or suffer.

The Baier family should be thankful for their employer-provided health insurance. Without it, their son would likely not be alive.

Agreed. But one has to wonder if, say, this was Brian Williams’ son, if the denizens of Fox Nation would have the same feelings. I would like to think so. But still …
