Breaking News: Eric Holder Cited For Contempt. Dems Storm Out

Posted by Ellen -395.60pc on June 28, 2012 · Flag

Here's something that should help make Roger Ailes' day. The Fox News witch hunt against Eric Holder finally snagged his skull, at least in a symbolically, substantive-free way. Video via Think Progress after the jump.

Good for them (the Dems that walked out, that is). Shame on everyone else.

The US Attorney assigned to this matter has now correctly told Boner & Issa that DOJ prosecution of the AG is not warranted under precedent established and followed by Ronnie Raygun and Dumbya.

Just like last week’s talking point was that the Obama admin is “Nixonian”, so starts the new right-wing theme (as reiterated tonight by the outraged “idiot”, BOR) - “the Dems walked out on the family of Agent Terry”. Get used to it, folks, because we’re probably going to hear it a lot.

This is one of the most disgusting political attacks that I’ve ever witnessed. It deeply saddens me to see Republicans in the House go to these lengths to injure this administration, and for obvious reasons. Even sadder is the fact that 17 Democrats voted “aye.” Understood that they are afraid of the NRA and the backlash from their gun-toting constituents. SHAME ON YOU!

The GoP can always be confidant knowing they have the backing of the “liberal” media.

Whole display was disgusting. The consolation is that ultimately, it will have zero significance to history.

Darrell “The Torch” Issa has no shame. Teabagging Eric Cantor has no integrity. Their nominal leader, ManTan Boner, has no balls or this sham would never have come to a vote. Today’s Repug Party is a disgrace.

Is it just me, or is it really, really sad that it took them this long to realize that this was the only way to get that contempt vote on Holder?

though it’s not even close to as sad as that there’s no way they’re not aware Holder would have been held in formal hearings if their case held water.

So now it’s confirmed that neocons and some chickenshit dems would rather kiss the collective ass of the NRA than do the right thing.

And as Kevin says, this is nothing but grandstanding on issa’s part. And this won’t be the last of his grandstanding. He promises to have at least 7 hearings a week. Good luck with that, asshole.

The two Holder contempt votes will go down in history as party line votes that a few Dems were pressured into supporting by the NRA. No result will come from this, and the real story has already been published by Fortune.

This is a nothing story about Darrell Issa grandstanding and throwing tantrums, and it’s cheap political revenge for the appropriate investigations of criminality and impropriety in the Bush Admin. By November, I seriously doubt anyone will be thinking about it – at least not anyone that isn’t in the hard right GOP group already.

Well, that is what the modern Republican party does, make loud and futile gestures. Meaningless as well.

“Here’s something that should help make Roger Ailes’ day.”

That it will. Between the AZ Immigration bill decison on Monday, and the Healthcare decision today, Ailes and his fellow teabaggers didn’t have a whole lot to cheer about.

Now they do. What you wanna bet they’ll be talking about this the rest of the day, and the words “Supreme Court”, “Obamacare”, and “Chief Justice Roberts” won’t escape nary a Fox pundit’s lips?
