In the wake of news that some ice in Antarctica is getting thicker, Fox News is sending… a right-wing comedian to investigate whether that disproves global warming.
Never mind that actual measurements show the earth is warming or that there is overwhelming scientific consensus that it’s the result of human activities. Comedian Dennis Miller and his yardstick apparently are more reliable sources to Fox News and Bill O’Reilly.
Last night, during his regular Wednesday night yuk session with Miller, O’Reilly announced – in seeming seriousness: “Miller is traveling to Antarctica, on assignment for The Factor, to find out why the ice caps there are getting larger if the earth is warming.”
Miller’s reply also seemed sincere.
MILLER: I’m going down there in January, Billy, to give you a mukluk-on-the-ground perspective. But you know, it doesn’t matter if it’s getting thicker, to the left. They’re just going to tell you – they think yardsticks are the devil’s scepter. They’re gonna insist that it’s getting thinner, it doesn’t matter.
The left is the one denying science? Now, that's funny!
According to a CNN report, which relied on scientists, not comedians, as sources, thicker ice in Antarctica only means that the continent is less responsible for rising sea levels than previously thought, not that the earth is not warming:
This net gain in ice would mean that Antarctica would not be contributing to sea level rises, but could help offset some of the major ice losses in places from Greenland and glaciers worldwide.
Scientists suspect that increased snowfall, which began 10,000 years ago, is the reason for the gain in Antarctica. Over the years, the snow has accumulated and compacted to form ice.
Furthermore, other research “suggests the West Antarctic ice sheet is destabilizing, which would more than overcome the ice gains and could result in 3 meters of sea level rise.”
Fox News’ joke climate “science” just got even more laughable.
Watch it below, from the November 4 The O'Reilly Factor.
On Bret Baier’s “This Week’s Winners & Losers” segment tonight, I just heard Will say that BOR is his pick for “Loser of the Week" as his book, Killing Reagan, "is being eviscerated by real historians and by almost everyone who worked and knew Ronald Reagan. Uh, viewers might want to see his response to my criticism on the segment we taped for his show tonight that is so unhinged as to be highly amusing.”
Set your DVRs, folks! LOL!
I hope the scientists give Dennis directions on how to get to the local day spa when he’s there.

Well, it is BOR so actual facts aren’t going to matter when they can be cherry-picked and/or misrepresented to fit their agenda. Eh, they’re probably just trying to work up some material for their “Pinhead Tour”, er, their “Don’t Be A Pinhead Tour”. Yeah, Miller in Antartica = comedy gold. Geez.
And, speaking of cherry-picking, misrepresenting and skirting the facts, it seems that George Will wrote a column that tore BOR a new one (with regards to his “Killing Reagan” book). I’ve read several reviews from Reagan biographers who slammed BOR’s book for the lack of facts and interviews with Reagan admin associates but, wow, Will really let him have it saying that…
“The book’s perfunctory pieties about Reagan’s greatness are inundated by its flood of regurgitated slanders about his supposed lassitude and manipulability. This book is nonsensical history and execrable citizenship, and should come with a warning: “Caution — you are about to enter a no-facts zone.”
Yeah, the “no-facts zone” – that sounds accurate. Good to see Will finally come to realize what so many of us already know. LOL! And, while I didn’t see the segment, I read that BOR called Will’s column “libel” and challenged him to come on The Factor and say that to his face. Bwaaah!
After Dennis Miller makes it back from Antarctica to debunk climate change (presuming he makes it back), could you kindly send him to the sun to debunk the theory that the earth revolves around it?
Thanks.

Failed comedian.

Billdo’s sycophantic turd tamper.
Gotta love FAUX’s Ship of sTools.
This will be a clear victory for the penguins, although the bar is very low with Billdo and Miller in the field.
