Bill O'Reilly made a big point of telling us during his Talking Points commentary last night that unlike some people on Fox, he's not a political ideologue. Referring to his upcoming convention coverage, he said, "It will not be The Republicans are good, the Democratics are bad or vice versa. We are not in the business of promoting any political party." No, he just happened to conclude that The Republicans are sane and responsible while the Democrats are kowtowing to extremists and radicals.
Oh, and he also went after Sandra Fluke again. But more on that in a later post.
That said, I'll admit O'Reilly drew some good distinctions between the two parties' campaigns (Republicans argue from the head, Democrats from the heart). And I'd give him a lot more credit if he would just drop the pretense that he's not looking out for Mitt Rommey and that he wasn't just criticizing Democrats but demonizing them. So while O'Reilly's right that he's not a GOP lapdog like Sean Hannity, when the subject is Democrats and liberals, there's just not all that much difference at the end of the day.
