Your World Helps Rep. Joe Walsh Blame His Near Meltdown On Coffee And An Empty Stomach

By Brian

Deadbeat Dad Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL) got another dose of Republican rehab from Your World and host Neil Cavuto yesterday, this time to help explain away Walsh’s near meltdown during a gathering with constituents. A video of the episode went viral. As Priscilla posted, Fox Nation gave Walsh its own rehab by blaming the constituent who had the nerve to ask Walsh a question. Cavuto was somewhat critical of Walsh’s behavior but never challenged his excuse: "I made the mistake of doing this on a very empty stomach with a little too much coffee, which sort of got me a little too fired up." Of course, there were no embarrassing questions about child support.

Geraldo Thinks O’Reilly An “Old Fogey” For His Occupy Wall Street Vitriol

Bill O’Reilly and Geraldo Rivera had one of their epic debates tonight, this time over Occupy Wall Street. As I’ve previously noted, Rivera has done some decent reporting on the movement, despite facing some not-so-friendly crowds at New York's Zuccotti Park. O’Reilly, on the other hand, has been consistently vitriolic toward the protests. In this debate, when O’Reilly complained that the entire movement had been “hijacked” by nuts and extremists, Rivera said, “You know what sticks in my mind? The phrase ‘Old Fogey,’ because what you just said was used time and time again against the anti-Viet Nam war protesters.”

The Five’s Eric Bolling Calls OWS Every Name In The Book, Then Defends Doug Schoen’s Phony Poll

Eric Bolling, Fox “News” Bully Boy and serial liar, took to the airwaves to smear the Occupy movement once again, although this time he eschewed wearing a tin foil hat. On yesterday’s show, and without pausing for breath, he called the OWS protesters, “Communist, Nazi, anti-Semites down here. Pot smoking, sex addicted morons, and you compare that to the Tea Party?” Clearly Kimberly Guilfoyle was amused because she laughed heartily at Bolling’s name-calling. However, Bob Beckel, who made the comparison, was not amused. He cried foul. Beckel has mentioned several times, on previous shows and in this segment, how he’s been forced to moderate his language when talking about Teabaggers because, as he has also explained, how angry it made his The Five co-hosts. They expressed their displeasure off the air and in commercial breaks. In fact, Beckel now calls them “The Tea People,” because of the severe browbeating he took. Yet, those same people feel that the Occupy movement can be described in almost sub-human terms and find it amusing.

Fox News Crew Maced and Beaten On Wall Street As Jon Stewart Mocks Fox’s Coverage Of Occupy Wall Street

As News Hounds has reported, Fox “News” has been dismissive of the Occupy Wall Street protests springing up across the nation. This seems odd, considering how much free publicity the unfair and balanced network gave to the astro-turfed Teabagger protests. Contrast that with Occupy Wall Street, which appears totally organic: A few weeks ago most people knew nothing of it and it has been growing daily, despite getting very little coverage in the MSM. This has obviously spooked the Fox “News” Channel because it has yet to accurately report on the protests. Instead the so-called news channel has employed the spin and ridicule for which it’s known when something disturbs The Force. Since the sharpest observer of today’s political scene remains a cable comedy show, Jon Stewart couldn’t help but point out the Fox News hypocrisy on OWS, with special shout outs to Sean Hannity and Steve Doocy. Watch:

Today’s Fox and Friends Pushes Yesterday’s Debunked Story To Attack POTUS

I’ll often poke around the Media Matters to see what I’ve missed when I’m not watching Fox News. Yesterday I couldn’t help but run across an article titled, “Wash. Post's Sargent Deflates Story That White House Pressured Ford Over Ads,” quoting a Greg Sargent article. That’s why I was so surprised to hear FBN reporter Charles Gasparino [who looks a lot older on-air than his FBN bio page. Who is he trying to kid?] say the exact opposite on Fox and Friends this morning. Here’s Sargent yesterday, who did that thing called “reporting:”
