Why Didn't Chris Wallace Ask David Axelrod About DOJ's New Black Panther Case?
White House senior advisor David Axelrod visited Fox News Sunday today for an interview with Chris Wallace that lasted almost 11 minutes. They discussed the BP oil spill disaster, the president's wish for a moratorium on offshore drilling, immigration and Arizona, the recess appointment of Donald Berwick and unemployment. Yet Wallace never mentioned one word about the supposedly "explosive" allegations, relentlessly hyped on Fox News for more than a week, that the Obama Department of Justice dropped a case of voter intimidation against the New Black Panther Party and some of its members because it has decided not to prosecute cases of black intimidation against whites. Not only has Fox News been fixated on painting Obama's DOJ as racist the second-hand accusations of a GOP activist, the "fair and balanced" network has been almost as fixated on complaining about other media ignoring this supposedly important story. So is Wallace part of the so-called liberal media? Or does he just know a phony, trumped-up controversy when he sees one?

Fox Nation Attacks Elena Kagan: “Kagan’s Smoking Gun? Partial Birth Abortion Abortion”
Fox Nation, the Fox News website for "real" Americans who hate American blacks, gays, libruls, etc, is a great conduit for whatever is hot, hot, hot in the rabid right wing community. Like Fox “News”, “Fox Nation” is in the front lines of the culture war in which abortion is the singular issue (never mind an environmental crisis in the Gulf or a war that kills post born humans in the Middle East!) The anti-choice brigade is all aflame with “data” which purports to show that SCOTUS nominee Elena Kagan somehow persuaded the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) to change their position on so called "partial birth abortion" based on her evil, librul, abortion agenda. It’s a conspiracy! So it’s not surprising that Fox Nation would have a lede thread titled “Kagan’s Smoking Gun? Partial Birth Abortion.” The Fox thread links to the right wing National Review Online, by an attorney who was General Counsel to Dick Cheney, so no bias there, nosirreee!!!! And just to provide even more of a shout out to their anti-choice readers, Fox Nation used the requisite image of the thumb sucking fetus so beloved by the anti-choice movement. When it comes to right wing agitprop, Fox Nation has the inside track!

Megyn Kelly And Bret Baier Reveal How We Know Elena Kagan Is Liberal: She’s From NY’s Upper West Side
On the day that, as Politico reports, Republicans have seized on the strategy of painting Supreme Court nominee Elana Kagan as a politically-driven liberal ideologue, America Live host Megyn Kelly, who is supposedly a host of one of Fox News' "objective" programs, threw in her two cents in support of the meme. How does she know Kagan is a far leftist? Kagan is from New York’s upper west side where Kelly saw someone walking around with a "Kill Cheney First" tee shirt. Bret Baier agreed with Kelly's assessment.

Fox News Polishes Up Palin’s Policy Cred – With Extra Help From Greta Van Susteren
For a while, I’ve noticed that Fox News has been going out of their way to help polish Sarah Palin’s policy cred. I don’t know whether Fox News has paid for her team of policy advisors, the way they paid for her in-home television studio, but it’s clear the “fair and balanced” network is doing its darnedest to help develop and promote the wonkish side of Palin, assuming there is one. That effort got an extra boost from Greta Van Susteren Friday night (5/14/10) when Van Susteren sought out Palin’s insights on Greece, the nomination of Elena Kagan to the U.S. Supreme Court, the Gulf Coast oil spill, Palin’s “prescription” for illegal immigration and the federal budget. Where else but on Fox News would anyone spend three segments pretending she knows anything about these subjects? And where else but on Fox News would Palin try to discuss them? With video.

O’Reilly Loses It Over Ruth Bader Ginsburg And Eric Holder
I don’t know what got into Bill O’Reilly’s coffee Monday (5/10/10). But in a discussion ostensibly about the nomination of Elena Kagan to the U.S. Supreme Court, he went on an unjustified tear against Supreme Court Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Eric Holder, accusing Ginsburg of not caring “one whit” about the Constitution and Holder of not giving “a fig” about justice. It left his guest, the conservative Brit Hume all but speechless. With video.
