After Donald Trump attacked the press for calling out his lies about donations to veterans charities and new, very unflattering details were revealed about deceptive practices of Trump University, “objective” Fox host Dagen McDowell pulled a “But Hillary Clinton is worse!” deflection.
McDowell spoke with Byron York, of the Washington Examiner, ostensibly about President Obama’s speech in Elkhart, Indiana.
First, McDowell commented that President Obama “is more worried about preserving his legacy than actually getting Hillary Clinton elected.”
York explained that Obama has a lot on the line with the election because if a Republican is elected his legacy “could largely go away” whereas it would probably stay in place if a Democrat wins in November.
Next, McDowell asked this “Cavuto mark” of a question:
MCDOWELL: Does it help Hillary Clinton to remind people, though, to go out and essentially remind people, many people in this country why they like a Bernie Sanders or a Donald Trump - because their wages haven’t been growing, because the economy’s barely growing? I can go on. Businesses aren’t investing, the Affordable Care Act is fouled up, to say the least. Does that hurt her, potentially?
That prompted a bit of discussion about what a poor campaigner Clinton is.
The final topic was Clinton slamming Trump for attacking the press. Rather than focus on Trump’s anti-American stance against freedom of the press, McDowell made it about whether Clinton “gets any leverage from this.”
Of course, York thought not. Then he moved on to attack Clinton more. “When’s the last time Hillary Clinton held a press conference? I think it’s more than 150 days ago," he said. "She just doesn’t do it. …Donald Trump has been many, many places, done many interviews, done press conferences. In general, has been far more accessible to the press than Hillary Clinton has.”
Yeah, more accessible, except when Trump bars the press or his goons physically assault them.
McDowell ended the interview with two stamps of approval for conservatives. “And at least he tells it like it is. Donald Trump, that is, and you as well.”
Just forget that big pile of lies Trump keeps telling. Rest assured, Fox will do its best to help in that regard.
Watch it below, from the June 1 Your World.
The guy fits FOX News like a glove.
By any chance did ‘business news’ program “Your World” actually covered any business topics? ;^)
