Gavin McInnes' Tasteless Jokes About The Poor Wins Our Outrageous Quote Of The Week Poll
Gavin McInnes' "jokes" about people on food stamps were not just offensive, they won him our Outrageous Quote of the Week award. Frankly, I'm surprised, given the level of the competition. But McInnes won handily, beating out his closest competition by 8%, or more than 20 votes.
Read moreJon Stewart’s Hilariously Mocks Fox News Drooling Over Putin
If you missed The Daily Show last night, you MUST SEE, Jon Stewart’s hilarious takedown of Fox News’ slobbering over Vladimir Putin for being strong while attacking President Obama for being both weak and, according to Fox, a dictator.
Read moreBill Hemmer: Is This The Affordable Care Act Or Is This Gumby?
During the “objective” America’s News HQ show yesterday, co-host Bill Hemmer worked a smarmy, snarky swipe at ObamaCare into a discussion about whether or not “senior administration officials” were truthful in saying that there will be no more major changes to the Affordable Care Act in the next few years. Actually, Hemmer worked it in twice.
Read morePeter Johnson Jr, 'Ashamed To Be American' Because Of Facebook 'Hate Speech!?!'
Under the guise of advocacy, Fox News loves to insert itself into cases involving sick children in order to promote an agenda. Such was the case with "Baby Joseph," a terminally ill Canadian child whose parents refused to comply with a court order to take him off support. In providing totally biased *coverage, Fox was able to promote its "pro-life" creds and, for bonus points, speculate that the Canadian decision was just an example of the dreaded "death panels." Last year, Fox's Peter Johnson, Jr., politicized the case of a child needing new lungs in order to promote lies about the ACA and attack HHS Secretary Sebelius. When the case was satisfactorily resolved, Johnson was hailed as a hero. Questions regarding the ethics of organ transplants remain and a Facebook discussion has turned nasty. And that's why Peter Johnson Jr., isn't happy and wants all of you naysayers to STFU!
Read moreKelly Dresses Down Issa – To Improve GOP Messaging in IRS Investigation
At first blush, Megyn Kelly’s scolding interview with Republican Congressman Darrell Issa last night over his behavior toward Democratic Rep. Elijah Cummings may have seemed like she was exerting some political independence and real journalistic chops over the Republican IRS witch hunt investigation. But if you carefully consider what she said, it’s pretty clear that her chief complaint was that Issa’s behavior was harming the Republican efforts.
Read moreBrent Bozell: Iran-Contra Scandal ‘Piddly’ Compared To IRS Investigation
Brent Bozell had a sad on The Kelly File last night. He’s very, very upset that the news media is talking about the dustup between Rep. Elijah Cummings and Committee Chairman Darrell Issa over the IRS investigation. Why? Because now the media is not talking about the substance of the investigation. According to Bozell, the issue is so important, it makes Iran-Contra look “piddly.”
Read moreFox News’ Racial Witch Hunt Against Obama Nominee Adegbile Succeeds
It’s hard to think of anything more disturbing than an American news network making racial attacks on an African American nominee to head the Civil Rights division of the Justice Department because he took on a civil rights case. But what’s even worse is how Fox’s race baiting helped get enough Democratic senators to block the nomination.
Read moreHannity Equates Iraq War And Torture With ‘If You Like Your Doctor You Can Keep Your Doctor’
In what may be the most ridiculous defense of the Bush administration ever, Sean Hannity actually argued that Condoleezza Rice’s support for the Iraq War and “enhanced interrogations” was the same as President Obama’s now-infamous statement about the Affordable Care Act, “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.”
Read moreDonald Rumsfeld: Fox's Russia And Ukraine Guru
It’s hard to know which was worse about Donald Rumsfeld discussing Ukraine on the Hannity show last night: the way his own colossal blunders were swept under the rug or his utter lack of professionalism or grace during this tense situation. Instead, Rumsfeld tag teamed with Sean Hannity in using a serious international confrontation for partisan hackery.
Read moreFox & Friends Foments More Fear Of Islam With 'Security Expert' From Anti-Islamic Group
Fox News has been described, in the Center for American Progress' report "Fear Inc.," as an echo chamber for America's cottage industry of Islamophobia. But now that the so called "Ground Zero Mosque" is no longer an issue, the steady drumbeat of Fox Islamophobia has diminished. But it has not totally disappeared as shown by Fox & Friends' recent embrace of a "security expert" from a radical, fringe anti-Muslim group who used his Fox platform to spread more Fox fear and loathing of Islam. It's no surprise that Ryan Mauro, whose work appears on anti-Muslim sites such as Front Page Mag, would be playing the hate card given that his previous job was with the Christian Action Network, a virulently homophobic organization. So he's perfect for "the morning happy-talk show that Ailes uses as one of his primary vehicles to inject his venom into the media bloodstream."
