Andrea Tantaros Our Outrageous Loser Last Week
It's not too surprising that Andrea Tantaros "won" our Outrageous Quote of the Week poll last week with her disgusting request that her radio show listeners "do me a favor" and punch an Obama supporter "in the face." Her statement is bad enough but to my knowledge, she has not apologized. Even worse, Fox News does not seem to mind. This, by the way, is Tantaros' second win, out of three polls so far. Her last "win" was for suggesting Malia Obama should go on birth control. So if being hateful and inciting violence is your idea of making a name for yourself, Andrea, congratulations on your win. But if you have any decency, you couldn't be a bigger loser.

We had a fairly quiet week Fox Mail-wise. Still, the emails we got reveal not only the cluelessness of some Fox News viewers who can’t tell the difference between us and them but also their mindset.
Read moreBill O'Reilly Endorses Islamophobia In The Name Of Ethnic Fairness?!?
Bill O'Reilly's "Tip of the Day," is a stunning illustration of O'Reilly's hypocrisy at best or cognitive dissonance at worst in that what he preaches isn't anything remotely like what he practices. Given O'Reilly's pattern of Islamophobic comments, which suggest that Islamic terrorism is a reflection of Islam and his belief that the world has a "Muslim problem," a recent "Tip," about "being fair to every ethnic group," seemed to be more divergence between what Bill advises and what he says. But on second glance, it was actually quite consistent in that he actually qualified his advice with a caveat that was perfectly consistent with his toxic world view - a world view that he proudly articulated on the Daily Show which he proudly used as the visual aid for his "tip."

Megyn Kelly righteously made the case for working mothers yesterday when she took on Fox News contributor Erick Erickson and Lou Dobbs for their now-infamous comments that breadwinner mothers are somehow unnatural, bad for children and/or antithetical to the “typically” “dominant role” of the male. But before anyone goes lionizing her, consider the likelihood that she was doing exactly what Fox News wanted her to do.

In case you thought there was no story Fox News couldn’t spin to fit their Republican agenda, check out how Neil Cavuto and Charles Payne used the recent good news on the economy to malign President Obama – and talk up the sequester.

The women of Fox News are not about to let Erick Erickson off lightly for his recent comments, on Lou Dobbs’ show, about male superiority being a scientific fact. Last night, on her blog, Greta Van Susteren asked if they’d lost their minds. Then today, Megyn Kelly brought both Erickson and Dobbs onto her show and went at them with both barrels, while they alternately tried to explain what they’d really meant, and smirked in a way that made me want to throw my computer out the window.

As you know from News Hounds, blogs, and non-Fox media (Mika Brzezinski ripped them a new one), a recent Lou Dobbs segment, on Fox Business, exposed the totally medieval and patriarchal views of both Dobbs and his fellow Fox contributors particularly Erick Erickson. Yep, just after Laura Ingraham, said, on Fox News, that if the Republicans hope to restore any credibility, they have to stop saying stupid comments about women, along comes the Dobbs sausage fest during which the testosterone infused Fox guys said a bunch of stupid things about women. Yep, they lamented the fact that working moms represent 40% of American households because - wait for it - it shows the demise of society as we know it. Thus, it was good to know that Fox's Greta Van Susteren was having none of this and reprimanded her fellow Fox hosts for their stupid comments which, sorry guys, won't help your party anytime soon!
Read moreFox Too Busy Talking About Obama Scandals To Discuss Ricin Threats
Fox News prime time last night was pretty much all Obama-scandal/Eric Holder witch hunt all the time, with a brief break for such subjects as a woman in a Mexican prison and Senator Rand Paul's family photo with Ronald Reagan. In three hours of programming, I didn’t hear one mention of the fact that a threat had been made on our president’s life or that a domestic terrorist may be targeting gun-control advocates.
Read moreFox Contributor Erickson: Male Superiority Is Scientific Fact
For the slimiest views on women, the crown has to go to Fox News contributor Erick Erickson. On an already classy Lou Dobbs segment discussing how the growth of female breadwinners spells the dissolution of society, Erickson had the nerve to say that male dominance is scientific fact and that liberals who don’t acknowledge this are “anti-science.”

Dr. Manny Alvarez is listed as Fox News’ “Senior Managing Editor For Health News” which, presumably, puts him in Fox’s much ballyhooed “objective news” camp instead of its “opinion” sections. Yet apparently Fox not only doesn’t mind his open (anti-Obamacare) political advocacy, they showcased it on Your World on Tuesday (5/28/13).
