Hannity Hosts Islamophobic Hate Monger Pamela Geller As Egypt Expert
Pamela Geller has no expertise on Egypt, U.S. foreign policy or even the religion of Islam – other than the fact that her hostility is so extreme, her organization has been listed as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center and Great Britain recently banned her from entering their country because her visit was deemed “not conducive to the public good.” But the Hannity show presented her as an authority to comment on the then-demonstrations against Egypt’s President Morsi last week. Geller not only displayed her ignorance and shallow grasp of the situation, but she got a good chunk of sympathetic air time to hate monger, including saying that President Obama is “consistently on the side of jihadic, Islamic supremacist regimes.”
Read moreTodd Starnes Impressed With 'Giant Burrito' At Gay Pride Parade?!
Culture warrior extraordinaire, Paula Deen supporter, and Fox News writer, radio host, and TV commentator Todd Starnes is always on the lookout for examples of how the insidious "gay agenda" is out to destroy truth, justice, and the Christian American way, such as when SCOTUS recently "overruled God." And that's why, I'm sure, the Jesus loving, homo hating Starnes is always on the lookout for examples of this licentiousness at gay pride parades on which he seems to have an odd fixation. Last year, he tweeted about the male thongs and leather chaps seen at a NY pride parade. This year, he tweeted his sympathy for NY tourists who were exposed to this degeneracy which included, OMG, a giant burrito being ridden by one of those evil Christian seducing, Jesus hating, "sodomites," (in the parlance of Starnes' pals) and, pass Todd his fan because I do believe he's about to pass out, "foreskin activists." Jesus wept!
Read moreWe've Got Mail... For Fox News
It's time for our weekly peek into the minds and hearts of Fox News viewers - and it ain't pretty. It is, however rather entertaining and enlightening. So here is the latest installment of our Fox News mailbox, i.e. emails sent to News Hounds in the mistaken belief that we are Fox News. This week, George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin seemed to be the biggest subject on the viewers'/readers' minds. UPDATED: One piece of mail was actually meant for us.
Read moreFox Guest Race Baits The Zimmerman Verdict
Just a few days after Greta Van Susteren obsessed on the air about African Americans “not accepting” an acquittal of George Zimmerman should the jury verdict be such (as Fox has long been advocating). But that seems to be a one-way concern that only centers on the conduct of black people. Last night, Van Susteren’s substitute, Kimberly Guilfoyle, hosted a guest who announced that if Zimmerman is found guilty, "I would say that would be as politically motivated and racially motivated as the O.J. acquittal.”
Read moreOn Fox & Friends: America Is Christian Nation, Fourth of July Is 'Religious' Holiday'
As Fox News' flagship show for those Christians who reside in an alternate reality in which the United States was founded by devout Christians seeking to establish a political system governed by the Christian bible, it isn't surprising that Fox & Friends would promote those who promote this view. Such was the case last week when Clayton Morris interviewed the head of the company that, according to Fox, teaches kids the "true meaning" of July 4th which is - are ya ready for it - really a religious holiday because, of course, we are a Christian Nation.. Once again, Fox & Friends shows us why Fox viewers are misinformed because, once again, propaganda trumps reality.
Read moreRupert Murdoch: Cruel, Stingy And Megalomaniacal Says His Former Lieutenant
The secret - and very incriminating - recordings of Rupert Murdoch leaked to the press earlier this week came as little surprise to one of Murdoch's former lieutenants. In a riveting blog post, Rodney E. Lever, a long-time former employee of Murdoch in Australia, says the recordings were further proof of exactly what he has thought. (Hat tip reader Noel)
Read moreThere are two sides to Murdoch: the megalomaniac-narcissist who considers himself above the law, and the nice guy who can hand out wads of shareholders money to people whose lives he has severely damaged and then bitterly complain about these same people in private afterwards.
On Fox & Friends: Persecuted Christian Still Whining After Persecution Resolved
Sometimes persecuted Christians actually have a real grievance. So when it's resolved you'd think that they'd be praising the lord and moving on with the lives. But noooooo, rather than accept whatever redress is offered, these congregants of the church of the perpetually outraged go on Fox News to continue to whine about how badly they were treated and thus, perpetuate the now standard Fox meme of Christian victimization. Such was the case on this morning's Fox & Friends when Jesus BFF Anna Kooiman, during their now standard "Fight for Faith" (What is with this constant "battle" imagery?!), followed up on Fox's decorated culture warrior, Todd Starnes' story about a Catholic student who was told by a college supervisor to remove her cross while she performed her duties at a student orientation. Long story short, it was a mistake, the college acknowledged it, and tried to contact the student to apologize. Should be end of story. But on Fox & Friends, Christian persecution is a never ending story!
Read moreFox Guest Describes Trayvon Martin’s Mother As A Liar
In its online coverage of the George Zimmerman trial today, host Gregg Jarrett, replayed part of the cross examination of Trayvon Martin’s mother. In the exchange Jarrett highlighted, defense attorney Mark O’Mara “asked” her whether, if she had not identified her son as the one screaming for help, heard on a 911 call tape, she “would have to accept the probability that it was Trayvon Martin who caused his own death.” It was a cringe-making question that even Jarrett seemed to acknowledge was a misstep by O’Mara. But guest Mark Eiglarsh seized on the mother’s answer, “I don’t understand the question,” as proof that she was being dishonest and manipulative.
Read moreFox’s Jesse Watters: ‘The Terrorists Have Won’ Because Samuel Adams Beer Didn’t Use God In Their Ad
Fox News Jesse Watters may not mind having his readers regularly discuss assassinating President Obama and he has personally stalked a young, female blogger because she dared criticize Bill O’Reilly’s sexism, but when it comes to beer ads, he’s found religion. So long as he can exploit it for political gain, that is. Because he actually announced, without challenge, that a Sam Adams beer ad that referenced the Declaration of Independence without mentioning “endowed by their Creator” was a sign that “the terrorists have won” and that the tea party has been “targeted.”
