Tucker Carlson Slut Shames Unwed Mothers As 'The Ultimate In Negligence'
Once again, Tucker Carlson has proven the astuteness of Jon Stewart's characterization of him as a "dick." On this morning's Fox & Friends, the gang on the curvy couch discussed a show that follows families whose style of parenting could be considered "extreme." The talk was amusing and non-judgmental until the point when Carlson dropped his slut shaming and very misogynistic bomb. Put it this way, it makes Dan Quayle's Murphy Brown comments look benign in comparison!

Last night, the Hannity show “analyzed” President Obama’s comments characterizing the CIA’s “enhanced interrogation” program under the Bush/Cheney administration as “torture.” So whom did Fox call on for some of its typically “fair and balanced” commentary? Why, none other than Dick Cheney’s daughter, Liz Cheney. There were no pesky challenges from substitute host Monica Crowley, either.

As a purveyor of propaganda, Fox News knows the value of repeating the message. Thus, when Fox gets what they think is a juicy right wing meme, it is reinforced throughout several shows such as last week's Obama-is-doing-nothing-about-persecuted Iraqi-Christians series - a meme that dovetailed nicely with Fox's ongoing homage to the ongoing sense of Christian victimhood, much of it supposedly caused by atheists. As the morning show for persecuted Christians, it wasn't surprising that, earlier this week, Fox & Friends covered the latest bit of Christian outrage over a recent agreement between an atheist group and the IRS whereby the agency will more closely monitor election activities of churches. On this morning's Fox & Friends, the standard Fox memes of persecuted Christians and evil atheists were reinforced by Tucker Carlson and his discredited right wing guest, J Christian Adams. And Tucker Carlson even repeated the opening words of Elisabeth Hasselbeck! Wash, rinse, repeat.....

Fox’s The Five discussed House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s comments about children on the border in typical Fox News fashion yesterday: by smearing her.

Instead of just coming out and saying he wants to get rid of the undocumented kids who have flooded our border in his recent “Common Sense” commentary, Neil Cavuto cloaked what he must have thought was an unappealing attitude in a personal attack on Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA). Because, apparently, smearing Democrats is always thought to look good on Fox.
Read moreSeth Meyers Helps Megyn Kelly Perpetuate Her ‘I’m Down-The-Middle’ Myth
We would not expect Late Night host Seth Meyers to grill Megyn Kelly on the ways she disingenuously promotes Fox News propaganda, but even a little skepticism about her claim to be a “fair, down-the-middle journalist” would be in order, don’t you think?

Republican guest Kate Obenshain was so ridiculously off-base last night that Bill O’Reilly slapped her down so that Democrat James Carville didn’t have to.

Most undocumented immigrants are law abiding. Research suggests that "first-generation immigrants make their communities safer by working hard and raising families." But in an effort to foment fear and loathing of this community, the right wing promotes a narrative of criminal aliens running wild in our streets because of our lax immigration laws. Bill O'Reilly has advanced this anti-immigrant trope. In 2007, he obsessed about an undocumented man who, in Virginia, caused two traffic fatalities which, according to Bill, wouldn't have happened if this man had been deported. O'Reilly's outrage generated a shouting match between him and Geraldo Rivera who accused Bill of "obscuring a tragedy to score a cheap political point." Last night, O'Reilly, once again, obscured a tragedy to, once again, validate his xenophobia and, for good measure, bash the President for not keeping those criminal brown people out of his peaceful white America. And once again, his propaganda doesn't fit the facts.

Last night, Sean Hannity got together with one of his favorite bigots, Pat Buchanan. Most of the discussion was about the border crisis. But as the discussion ended, Hannity blatantly prodded Buchanan to attack President Obama for giving a shout out to American Muslims on WhiteHouse.gov.
