Joe Biden’s video gives me a glimmer of hope. While I agree that voters may be more interested in bread-and-butter issues, I also think that we can’t afford to ignore the mind-bogglingly un-American nature of this administration. I don’t see impeachment as feasible because: 1) the Senate won’t pass it and 2) Pence would be President (out of the frying pan into the fire).
Joe Biden may be the right person to keep the spotlight on the totally un-American nature of practically everything this administration is doing.

What literally floors me is the total pettiness that characterises these people. My only conclusion is that they and their viewers failed to grow up. In other words, they’re stuck in the stage of a three year old child.

Off topic. Is it too hopeful to expect USA politicians to follow the example set by PM Ardern of New Zealand? Literally minutes after the horrific attack on that country’s tiny Muslim population, she announced that national gun laws will be strengthened. And I believe she means to do just that.

Amen on all accounts John McKee. Particularly that last phrase.

Unfortunately, I’m not as optimistic as Kevin. These people are wilfully and totally unaware of their hypocrisy. Once a Dem is in the White House they will ignore the mountains of video that bear witness to their complete and total lack of honesty.

Saw Charlie Chaplin’s “The Dictator” last evening.
Wouldn’t surprise me one bit were FNC to refuse to air that film as well.

So true, scooter. So true.
They’ve become so bad that even I can’t watch more than five minutes without wanting to throw spaghetti at the TV. They’re no longer the least bit funny.

I fail to understand all the fuss about someone who grew up in a family that was proud of being descended from native Americans. In the absence of any evidence that Ms Warren may have gained privileged access to anything by claiming native American heritage, her family lore actually reveals a high degree of admiration for a people so badly treated by migrants from Europe.

Wouldn’t surprise me one bit if this person were to be a total hypocrite. All that “holier than thou” talk makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

Way I see it, anything Trump does or says will be touted by these so-called pundits as a sanction against Russia. The sanctions Trump is now saying are “his” were mostly levied by the previous administration.
Timelines are important, President (I used the title advisedly) Trump.

Until Pope Francis came along, the Catholic Church viewed both abortion and contraception as totally unacceptable. While the rhetoric hasn’t changed,it’s definitely not as strident as previously, suggesting that the Church may be ready for a more humane position. What I’ve always detested was the propensity of the “pro-life” movement to ignore – totally – the fate of the babies after birth.
The suffering imposed on babies that were unviable (born only to die shortly thereafter), subject to starvation and hence vulnerable to all sorts of diseases, etc. always seemed to be un-Christian to me. I have a higher perception of who Jesus was and who he would be, today.

I’m also intrigued by the pile-on on the Governor of Virginia for something he did as a (stupid) youngster in 1994, with absolutely NO, I repeat NO, evidence of his having behaved in the same way over the past 25 years.
Trump’s repeatedly offensive comments on women after the Access Hollywood tapes provides a good argument for accusing the trolls of “selective outrage”.
it’s the rampant hypocrisy that gets my goat.

One of the things I deplore the most about Fox(socalled)News is the deleterious effect they have undeniably had on the ability of their followers to express themselves in “American”, supposedly their native tongue.
Depressing beyond belief.

Pity that the American system does not envisage the possibility of a vote of confidence to take down a government that is not up to scratch. There is, however, a silver lining in that the replacement (Pence) could well be worse for the future of the American Experiment.

I think you’re right John McKee: I’ve seen Kurtz on the BBC where he’s consistently been a lot more logical, even critical of the current administration.
Don’t agree with you on the possibility that any being called Doocy could be expected to have a bit of a brain. They sold that piece of themselves to the cause ($$$$) when they signed on as foxies.

Amen, John McKee.
I also hope that the monolithic wall of denial with respect to the un-American nature of Trump’s administration will so on start to crack. Fox certainly has a lot to answer for but one should not forget the deplorable state of America’s educational system.
I was thrilled to see that the Parkland establishment was an exception to this rule. What a fantastic bunch of kids! And they will be voting and pounding the pavement in increasing numbers. Go kids!

Further. Providing health care to everybody in a community actually protects everybody in that community.

Just heard a bunch of guys from a Union of Border Patrol workers heap a mountain of praise on Trump and his wall. Brought back the memory of a similar situation when cabinet members sang the praises of their Dear Leader.

Here’s a hug, scooter. I realise it won’t help much but accept it with my sympathies. Fox(fake)News has done a lot of damage to the body politic of the USA.
If it’s any consolation, the phenomenon is not limited to the USA. The attractions of populism (self-satisfied pride in being part of people one can drink a beer with) are being felt all over Europe.
