In a classic case of pot-meet-kettle, Megyn Kelly and hate group head Tony Perkins whine about how nasty leftists are accusing the godly anti-Planned Parenthood right of hate rhetoric - while peddling anti-Planned Parenthood hate rhetoric of their own!
Kelly showed video of women addressing Planned Parenthood supporters after the Colorado Planned Parenthood shooting. One of the women spoke out against "false attacks on Planned Parenthood," false attacks which, as we know, happen regularly, on Fox. Another said that "if you call Planned Parenthood evil, you're part of the problem, if you're tweeting 'Planned Parenthood sells baby parts,' you're part of the problem." Again, we have only to examine Fox News' coverage for the veracity of that statement.
Kelly introduced her pal, Tony Perkins, head of the anti-gay hate group, The Family Research Council "who knows how it feels to have an organization targeted by a gunman." She referenced how a lone gunman attacked Perkins' group. She didn't mention that abortion clinic violence has a long history - as opposed to this one incident at the FRC. In making the case for pro-choice hypocrisy, she asked Perkins if he remembered "advocates right up to the president calling on people to tone down the violent rhetoric against causes for which you stand."
STOP RIGHT HERE - Those who oppose the FRC are not engaged in constant harassment and threats against the organization. No employees of the FRC have been murdered. FRC staff are not picketed at their homes and do not have their names and adresses posted on websites. Those who oppose the FRC DO NOT HAVE A MAJOR NEWS NETWORK SPREADING THEIR TALKING POINTS!
Perkins, who is pushing the lie that Planned Parenthood "sells baby parts" and whose organization is dedicated to re-criminalizing abortion, decried the CO shooting and immediately attacked the left who "lose their voice when it comes to their own people." As he spoke, the banner, in big bold letters proclaimed "Left Blaming Right Rhetoric for Shooting." In whining about the FRC shooting, he claimed that the shooter was a "liberal activist" which is gilding the lily a bit because Floyd Corkins' activism consisted of volunteer work at a local LGBT center. Neither Corkins nor Kelly said that the SPLC immediately responded with a statement against violence of any sort.
Kelly attacked Pres. Obama for telling the public to not "demonize Planned Parenthood" and asked Perkins if the President is in the position to say such a thing. Perkins responded that words matter and that those who criticize Planned Parenthood are speaking about "facts, undercover videos that reveal that Planned Parenthood has been trafficking in baby body parts." He noted that Congress is investigating but didn't mention that several states, including Indiana, have investigated and found nothing. He asserted that "having a discussion [On Fox, a totally one-sided discussion pushing a big, fat lie] is not inciting violence nor is it demonizing the organization, it's fact, it's reality." (Claiming, as fact, that Planned Parenthood is doing something illegal isn't demonizing? WTF???)
Kelly kept the "baby parts" rhetoric going when she referenced the aforementioned rally speaker saying "that if you say "baby parts, you're part of the problem." She suggested that "the left" has a double standard. (Oh, the irony!) In advancing the lies about Planned parenthood , Perkins said that "we cannot surrender the right to speak lies the truth because of political correctness." Giving more credence to the bogus videos, he pontificated about the need to speak out against that which "offends the moral conscience" and "what our tax dollars are funding."
Megyn Kelly and Fox News are "part of the problem" and that's a fact!
