I think it's safe to say that if an anti-Catholic group had an event which exhibited insulting, anti-Catholic cartoons of Catholic clergy, Fox & Friends would be outraged. But when the hate filled anti-Muslim Pam Geller hosts an event aimed at insulting Muslims, the Christian defending Fox friends think it's just fine because free speech.
On this morning's Fox & Friends, Pam Geller received warm affirmation. Steve Doocy played the pro-Geller Fox hand immediately by using Pam Geller's terminology in describing the scene of the shooting as a "free speech" rather than an anti-Islamic event. Geller continued the sanitizing of her hate fest by describing it as a "free speech conference." (It was billed as the "Draw the Prophet" event" - an event that gave a $10,000 prize to the best cartoon depicting Mohammed.) She ranted about how "there is a violent war on freedom of speech."
Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who thinks atheist signs are part of the war on Christians, asked, in her most concerned voice, if Geller, in planning the event, was worried about another Charlie Hebdo. The banner: "Freedom Under Fire." Geller continued to blither about free speech and described the event as "an art exhibit" which showed historical depictions of Mohammed.
Hasselbeck asked Geller if she believed that there was "another way" to express freedom of speech that wouldn't have been offensive by Muslims. Geller: "Inoffensive speech needs no protection, offensive speech needs protection." She asserted that she isn't "responsible for the violence conducted by others." She accused "the media" of having "a morally inverted" view. All the friends said "right" as she spoke about the absurdity of cartoons being the cause of the shooting.
To Brian Kilmeade's question of "who is fighting against freedom of speech," Geller responded that the gunmen were. To his question of whether she believes that Muslim extremists are responsible for this, she brayed about world wide "Sharia enforcement by violent jihadists." Steve Doocy agreed with her accusation that the media "whitewashes" jihadist doctrine."
She then made the bogus, Islamophobic claim that the place where she held her "exhibit" was a place where Muslims stood in support of blasphemy laws. Doocy said "right."In reality, the Muslim "Stand with the Prophet" rally was "dedicated to teaching Muslims how to combat negative depictions of their faith." Not surprisingly, it was protested by real America loving, Muslim hating Americans.
Steve Doocy, who doesn't think that atheists should have free speech, said "right" to Geller's comment that the 1st Amendment "protects all speech." Doocy continued to affirm her commentary about "free speech." He added that the Muslims who used the same facility for their conference had free speech. (The protesters didn't think so!) He then summed up the Fox message that Geller "felt it important to make a statement and you did."
Geller used Doocy's comment to continued to accuse the aforementioned Muslim conference of all sorts of evil things. When she said that it would have been great if American Islamic leaders had a conference "in defense of free speech," Brian Kilmeade said "I'm not holding my breath after all these years."
With only seconds left, Geller attacked Hillary Clinton of attempting to impose Sharia law in going after a video. (The anti-Muslim video that caused riots?) She warned people to "wake up" to the threat of Sharia and "start taking back their freedoms." She said that she will do this again and doesn't care if it "offends savages" because founding fathers.
As Newshounds Ellen reports, Pam Geller is a "vile" hatemonger whose anti-Muslim hatred is well documented. But for Fox & Friends, she is a brave defender of free speech. Talk about a "whitewash." And next time that there is a perceived affront to Christians, let's see if Fox & Friends is as enthusiastic about free speech.
“As Newshounds Ellen reports, Pam Geller is a “vile” hatemonger whose anti-Muslim hatred is well documented."
And according to http://www.wikipedia.org, Pam Geller was married for seventeen years (1990-2007) and has FOUR CHILDREN! Ergo, AT LEAST ONE OF THEM IS OLD ENOUGH TO ENLIST IN THE MILITARY RIGHT NOW!! But alas, us THINKING people who post here KNOW DAMN WELL that, like all perennial reich-wing PFCs (Privileged Fascist Chickenhawks), Pam Geller WOULD NEVER, NEVER EVEN THINK about putting any of HER children in harm’s way in the Middle East.
If Satan had a daughter guess who it would be? This sick, twisted bimbette.
