It's hard out there for nice, conservative, Ronald Reagan worshipping, homo hating college Christians who are being harassed by the nasty and very un-Christian gay agenda. So where better to whine about this latest bit of alleged anti-Christian effrontery than on Fox & Friends where there ain't no party like a persecuted Christian party
It's so sad. The George Washington University chapter of the Young America's Foundation a group of conservative, Christian college students, could lose their funding if the college mandates LGBT sensitivity training on gender identity issues and sexuality because - wait for it - religious freedom.. If this is enacted, YAF wants a religious exemption because they believe that "mandated training is not really being very tolerant of all religious beliefs. "They are also very, very upset about a nasty gay agenda pushing group, Allied in Pride, which says that if the YAF doesn't want to participate in the training they should be labeled a hate group and lose their funding. That's where Steve Doocy's enters, stage right.
Friday's "Trouble with Schools" segment began with the banner proclaiming that "Conservatives Shamed, Attacked for Boycotting Sensitivity Training." Steve Doocy reported on the "requirement" that the YAF's "decision to boycott" the training "cost them dearly" (Awww) because they "face funding cuts" and "have been labeled a hate group." (Note, the Allied in Pride folks said that the YAF "SHOULD" be designated as a hate group IF they refuse to participate in the training which has yet to be mandated. There has been NO official designation of the YAF, as a hate group, by anybody!) Doocy scowled as he asked if this is fair.
Doocy wanted to know who is calling the YAF a hate group. Pretty, pearl wearing Amanda Robbins, co-chair of the GWU YAF whined that a GWU gay organization is calling them a hate group as well as all kinds of other nasty, "vile" things. As she spoke, the banner reinforced the persecuted Christian motif: "Christian Values Under Attack." (Note, the accusations that are supposedly being leveled at the YAF are straight from an article from the right wing and Fox fave, "Campus Reform.") She whined about how "disappointing" this is because they're "not a hate group." (Ya think?!)
Doocy, in quoting from a right wing college website, recounted how the nasty gays criticized YAF for inviting that paragon of tolerance, Rick Santorum, to speak on campus. Robbins defended Rick "man on dog" Santorum's "great beliefs." In engaging in the patented Fox propaganda technique of presenting something as controversial when the only controversy is being ginned up by Fox, the banner proclaimed that there is a "Campus Uproar." In engaging in the patented Fox persecuted Christian meme, the bottom part of the banner proclaimed that the poor conservatives are "Being Shamed."
In whining about the training, Robbins said it's against their "strong Christian values" and unnecessary because (LOL) they are an "accepting organization." The banner framed the FOX MESSAGE that liberals are intolerant: "Liberal Intolerance, Students Try To Force LGBT Training On Group." She continued to whine about how terrible this is. Doocy said "yup."
Doocy LIED. This is NOT presently a "requirement." It has been approved by the Student Assembly; but "bills passed by the SA serve only as recommendations to the university administration." As headlined on the GWU newspaper, "YAF to request exemption if LGBT sensitivity trainings become mandatory." So it's possible that things could work out differently. Robbins did bother to correct Doocy, but, rather, complained about the group's maltreatment. But why bother with the truth, when the propaganda message, that nasty gays are saying bad things to good Christians is all you need to know!
But none of this is because I have a problem with the LGBT community. In fact, I am a member of it. I just think that the whole idea of mandatory sensitivity training is bullshit. I don’t believe people deserve to be labeled as members of a hate group merely because they won’t attend. I don’t believe people deserve to lose their funding because of it either. And lastly, I don’t believe mandatory sensitivity training is particularly beneficial.
God may not like the gays (or shellfish or pork eaters or folks who wear blended fiber fabrics) but He absolutely LOATHES the liars (and their cousins, the prevaricators). If He hated the gays as much as He hated the liars, we might’ve had Eleven Commandments (“Thou shalt not sex up a member of the same sex”).
I sincerely hope that, if GWU does mandate the sensitivity training, this spot is remembered by GWU officials when they deny the religious exemption.
