Poor conservatives. Their movies get snubbed at the Oscars and their revered political icons, who just call it like it is, get attacked by the librul media. So who better to defend them than the perky hosts of Fox & Friends and that sterling example of conservative integrity and class, Donald Trump!
Every Monday, Trump provides his mind rot wit and wisdom to the Fox audience. On today's show, Trump began by trashing the Oscars which didn't have enough "glamour" and "beauty" for the Donald's taste. Playing to the patented Fox & Friends sense of aggrieved victim hood, Trump proclaimed that "there was a lot of conservative hatred out there" as the banner reinforced the message: "Insulted by the Oscars, Trump: Oscars a Sad Joke and Insult to the Past." (Really? In the best tradition of the past, all the nominees were white.)
Elisabeth Hasselbeck whined about how "American Sniper" was "snubbed" despite its popularity with (real) Americans. (Of course the same could be said for Selma but that's a movie about black people so who cares!) Poor Elisabeth was shocked about the "political take" when "the lefties went full throttle." Video of *lefty "political" moments was shown as the banner reinforced the message about this nasty, librul Oscar propaganda: "Lights, Camera, Politics - Oscars Evoke Race, Wages, Immigration." (Oh, nooo.....)
After "Birdman's" director, Alexandro Inaritto spoke about treating immigrants with compassion, Trump played to the patented Fox & Friends nativism with his quip that "it was a great night for Mexico, as usual, this country, you know, the whole thing is ridiculous.” He continued to express his amazement that this foreigner was "walking away with all the gold." (Those darned Mexicans get all the good stuff!)
The rest of the segment was devoted to Republican Rehab. The pals cited Rudy Giuliani's Wall Street Journal editorial which was kind of but not really an apology for his comments about the president. Brian Kilmeade said that the mainstream media "firestorm" reminded him of when those evil leftie press people "went after" Donald Trump, several years ago, "over some comments" Trump made. Trump whined that nobody apologized to him.
The kids said "right" as Trump whitewashed Guiliani who had "made a statement" and then "clarified" it. The whitewash continued: "Lots of bad things are said about everyone else." The banner: Rudy's New Response, Giuliani Addresses Critics In New Op-ed." Trump then defended Gov. Scott Walker who initially said that he didn't know if Obama is a Christian. (All good Fox & Friends viewers know he's a Muslim.)
Wow, talk about an alternate reality. The media "went after" Trump because he was part of the batshit crazy birther movement and made batshit crazy comments which included the suggestion that the Hawaiian newspaper announcement of Obama's birth was fake. So yeah, Trump and Giuliani do have something in common. They both want to delegitimize the president as a scary "other." (Read black)
But ya gotta hand it to the conservative couch cretins. In the space of six minutes, they were able to cover the following memes: Hollywood hates conservatives and the military; immigrants suck; and offensive statements made about Obama are no big deal because, hey, everybody gets trashed. Funny, during the Bush administration, Fox News didn't think that George Bush should just shake off criticism from the lefties who were roundly excoriated on Fox.
*Do the pals think that Neil Patrick Harris' comment, that "Edward Snowden couldn't be here for some treason" is hardly lefty!
