When it comes to any perceived insult to Christians and Christianity, Fox News goes into full battle mode with, as Jon Stewart said, "a constant barrage of apocalyptic paranoia and outrage." ("Outrage" being the standard Fox word in any story about persecuted Christians). Last week, we saw a full, frontal Fox propaganda blast related to a lawsuit, filed by atheists, against the placement of the "Ground Zero Cross" in a publicly funded museum. During two discussions on this non-issue, official Fox priest attacked atheists who represent a popular bête noire for Fox. And it's not just atheists who are on Fox's black list. Last Friday, the nice Christians on The Five, who think atheists should leave the country if they're not happy with state sponsored Christianity, underscored why Fox News is the place where "you can bash Islam with impunity."
After briefly bashing the atheists over the Ground Zero Cross, during which time they advanced the lie that the atheists are claiming that they are suffering from dyspepsia (the final court document does not include that), the gang launched into their hate fest using the new movie about Noah as their propaganda vehicle.
Devout Catholic Eric Bolling, who once evicted an atheist from a Fox Business show because the guest didn't show the proper respect to Jesus, started the ball rolling. He reported that Egyptian censors don't want Noah to be kept out of theaters because they consider it "irreligious." Bolling claimed that Egypt banned "The Passion of the Christ" and the "DaVinci Code" (which was protested, by Christians, right here in the USA.) Bolling snarked "more Muslim intolerance." Bob Beckel whined about how if Islamic countries are secular states, they shouldn't censor movies. (Wonder what Beckel thought about the Smithsonian having to pull an AIDS video after the Catholic League protested?) Born again Beckel asserted that "Sharia Law is a waste of time."
Given that the religious right and the Catholic League's *Bill Donohue are offended by everything, Gutfeld's statement, that Muslims "should put out a book of everything that offends them" was laughable. His comment, that "religion shouldn't have such low self-esteem" and that "you should be confident that your faith can welcome skepticism or welcome other faiths" is laughable as that assessment could certainly be applied to those who actually think the "war on Christmas" is real.
Andrea Tantaros, always a voice of tolerance (just kidding) joked that "The Five" should sell "Fatwa This" tee-shirts on their website. (Please, go for it.) Good Christian Tantaros, who doesn't understand why "the left" won't defend persecuted Christians as much as it does Muslims, declared that "Islam is the most intolerant religion in the world." She got out her broad brush in describing Islam: "They turn on people who turn on Islam and kill them, even worse than people who aren't Islamic in the first place."
Being good Christians and all, I guess that Tantaros and her friends are unaware of the rabid intolerance of the Christian religious right towards homosexuality - an intolerance based on the Christian bible. And being Fox News anti-Islam propaganda pimps, I guess they're unaware that Christians were also upset about "inaccuracies" in "Noah" which has been edited in order to avoid offending Christians. But seriously, can you imagine the outrage on "The Five" if somebody in the librul media said that Christians are idiots - and judging from what you see on The Five, they might be right on the money!
*Did ya know that the movie "Philomena" is anti-Catholic?!
Do you think homosexuals in any one of the 57 Muslim majority countries have it any better? Where is your outrage? Or is outrage against Muslims, Islamophobic? There’s not much difference between CAIR (which hot linked in this site) and FOX News. Your assessment of the Christians on FOX here can also be applied to CAIR.
Amazing that the thrust of the whole left revolves around 4 percent of the population, when there are grander issues ot worry about.
