Forget the "lone gunman" and how, according to Sean Hannity, Hillary Clinton could have rubbed out Vince Foster. Fox News - yeah, I'm talking their official "fair & balanced" so called news - is promoting a new conspiracy about the death of journalist Michael Hastings who was tragically killed, earlier this week, in a car crash. Sounds pretty straightforward, right? Not so for conspiracy theorists whose latest speculation is being spread on Fox. While the theory presented is nowhere near as elaborate as Glen Beck's or Michele Bachmann's paranoid anti-government ravings, it does seem to suggest that there is no depth to which Fox "News" will not go in order to implicate the Obama administration in dirty deeds. Yes, gentle readers, it appears that either "Democrats" or, more insidiously, Pres. Obama himself could be behind Hastings death because Megyn Kelly tells us that "some are asking if there's more to his death than meets the eye." And that, as said in Plan 9 From Outer Space, "proves it!"
After claiming that unnamed "some" are suggesting that Hastings death is suspicious, she tossed to intrepid reporter Trace Gallagher. Gallagher reported that Hastings died in a fiery car crash and that his death is generating conspiracy theories. He added that "conspiracy theorists are asking for a closer look" because his body hasn't yet been identified. Gallagher noted that Hastings wrote the story which resulted in General Stanley McChrystal's resignation and that Hastings once said that he received a death threat "from somebody on McChrystal's staff. Gallagher also mentioned that Hastings wrote about CIA operatives and was working on a story about General Petraeus' affair. He added that Hastings worked on stories that "people clearly did not want him to write."
Gallagher's voice took on a conspiratorial tone when he reported that Hastings' "final story" was about the NSA. He showed a tweet from Glen Greenwald, the reporter who broke the NSA story: "Michael Hastings' final article was on Democrats & NSA stories." Gallagher cited the title of the article, "why Democrats love to spy on Americans.
After dropping his stink bomb, Gallagher did a disclaimer: "Clearly there is no proof in any of this, Megyn of anything suspicious. Police called the accident exactly that. They say it was nothing more than a tragic accident. They are now in the process of trying to identify his remains."
I've got to sign off now because black helicopters are now disgorging jackbooted thugs on my front lawn. Remember, the walrus was Paul....
And memo to Ms. Kelly - sometimes a car crash is just a car crash.

Thank you for proving my point.
O’Reilly: …This Hastings is a weasel, Bernie. He’s a weasel. You know he’s a weasel. This is a weasel with a capital “W”.

The second question is how realistically they could have done it without every last person in the free world instantly knowing it was them.
Answer: Let’s assume McChrystal is behind this, or someone did it for him. Hastings had already put out the piece that ruined him, and McChrystal is on record as having allegedly threatened him. Can you think of one motive or benefit that would be worth the risk of taking him out while being a name so well tied to his?
Exactly- And neither can I. The JFK, RFK, Watergate, and 9/11 conspiracy theories have a realistic benefit for the conspirators. This has, what? McChrystal is still resigned in disgrace, there are still the so-called scandals, trying to shut any whistleblowers off would be pointless now…
seriously? Dumbest scandal ever, if true.
