Usually, Fox News patented outrage starts on official Fox opinion and them makes its way over to official Fox News for further reinforcement and validation. However, the newest bit of right wing apoplexy, over Columbia University's hiring of a former Weather Underground radical who has done her time and is now a distinguished sociology professor, started yesterday on official Fox News with Megyn Kelly. It then made its way to Fox & Friends where Peter Johnson Jr. had a total hissy fit about it.
The segment was part of Johnson's patented "prescription for justice" which, last year, involved numerous segments in support of the Catholic bishops' opposition to the HHS birth control mandate. Johnson's wingman, Steve Doocy, predicted that the topic would "get you going." He said that Columbia's hiring of former radical Kathy Boudin has "made headlines." He didn't say that the headlines were in the NY Post, which, like Fox News, is part of Rupert Murdoch's empire. He wanted to know if Columbia had "crossed the line" and asked if it should lose public funding. He introduced his guest, Roger Ailes personal attorney, litigator for the Catholic archdiocese of NY, close pal of Cardinal Dolan, and Knight of Malta, Peter Johnson Jr. who proceeded to have a total hissy fit.
Johnson: "It's as sick and as low as you can go...there's a new paradigm, a new model in American education and culture that it's murder, mayhem, terrorism, anarchism...the path to success is to be involved in murders, plot bombings, to be part of the Black Panthers...so Ms. Boudin...teaching social work...teaching the theory of mass incarceration, how race incarcerates African-Americans...is now saying I'm your model now."
Nothing says white fear and loathing than the name Angela Davis; so not surprisingly Johnson reported that Columbia has invited Ms. Davis (old photo of Davis with scary Afro was shown) to speak. Doocy shouted "are you kidding." Nothing says Fox News fear and loathing than the name Bill Ayers which Johnson cited, for no apparent reason, when he went through a list of people that "we know" about who are connected to Columbia. (Ayers received his doctorate in education from the school). In keeping with the Fox tradition to link Ayers with Pres. Obama Johnson said that Ayers is Obama's friend when the reality is that they have a very tangential relationship. Johnson also went into detail about Jamal Joseph who is a former Black Panther member now teaching at Columbia. As he spoke of Joseph of spending five years in Leavenworth, a photo of Joseph was shown so the audience would know that he's a scary black man. Johnson informed the audience that Joseph was connected to the same event as Boudin. He didn't mention his impressive academic creds.
Doocy said "It's crazy, terrorist teachers" and read a statement from an unnamed "under sheriff" who was critical of Columbia's hiring of Boudin.
Johnson: "These are not our models...in the history of ColumbiaUniversity, John Jay and Alexander Hamilton...Dwight D Eisenhower...other great professors. Now we go to the bottom of the barrel. We go to the bottom of our society. We go to the people who engaged in the WORST CRIMES IMAGINABLE and we say to our children...these are the people that you emulate, these are the people that you follow, these are the people that you can be like. They've been rehabilitated but they follow the course of social activism that's good for this country. Columbia SHOULD STAND TALL. It's standing low in America's eyes today."
Funny, Peter Johnson Jr. is supposed to be an uber Catholic, a religion that believes in redemption. But obviously in Johnson's theology, redemption is only allowed for those who are in agreement with his and Roger Ailes' politics. Boudin has done her time. She has done and continues to do admirable work with the AIDS community and the families of those in jail. For Johnson that doesn't count because she was a former left wing radical. According to a Columbia staff editorial, she has expressed remorse. But for Fox News, which is using her to promote their message about evil, librul education, that's just not enough! Hey Petey, what would Jesus say?

As for others, I don’t like the name calling or flaming from either side. But I give more leeway, much more leeway, to our long-time community members who are here as sympathetic, loyal readers.
Am I biased? Yes, but from the standpoint managing a website, it’s what works.
He’s still dropping turds on the Megyn Kelly/Michelle Malkin thread — here’s a portion of our exchange:

Indoctirnation is telling people what to think. The latter occurs often, there are countless stories about it, professors giving poor grades due to opinion, not actual work… and it is almost always left-wing professors doing the indoctrinating. These stories are not hard to find, you just won’t find them in the left-wing media complex.
Well — I’m certain you can link us to these “countless stories” of “indoctrination” that always occur at the hands of “left-wing professors” . . .
When it comes to left-wing college indoctrination, there really is no debate about it, it is happening… I won’t do all of your homework for you, but here is a good start. This is from the National Division of Scholars, a non-partisan group:
{puts up a link from Phyllis Schlafly’s Eagle Forum — I didn’t bother to click on it}
Notice how, whenever these wingnuts make a claim, get asked for proof, they always come back with “I’m not doing the work for you”, or some BS? The true sign of a Johnny60cents troll . . .
.
Poo on Peter Johnson Jr.
Says the guy that gets banned, then immediately puts up a new IP mask to go after the posters on this site some more.
Now how about you show me where she’s indoctrinating anyone. And I don’t mean “Oh, she was a radical 30 years ago, so every word out of her mouth now is agenda…” that’s a spin line and you know it.
I mean, show me the groups of student radicals who only became radicals under her watch… and are being actively guided into criminal activities by her.
BTW, for MM’s sake: “Joe” is a Koldys troll who likes to make incessantly hateful comments about the regulars, wrapped around seemingly innocent attempts to put us on the spot about everything. I know he’s a Koldys troll because the idiot bragged about what he’s doing on there for his first seven names.
“Matt” is his newest IP masked handle, and his 22nd name, unless I missed something. I wish he’d get a life, but that’s just me.
And what “real issue” is that, Matt L./Joe Blowme?
That Fox will tolerate the hiring of a college coach who abuses his players, but can’t stomach the hiring of a senior citizen who served time for her crimes of thirty years ago?
We need to start setting out some Alka-Seltzer pills; that should take care of this “seagull” posters (the ones that drop sh*t, then fly away) . . .
.
OH * smacks forehead * — that’s what they call it: “discipline”!
No wonder Sean Hannity made the claim that Rice was “just trying to bring the best out of the team”.

I suppose Jerry Sandusky at Penn State was “just trying to bring out the best” in the recruits he sexually abused, too — right, Seannie Poo?
.
This is a gratuitous swipe at us designed to be hostile and inflammatory. You are now banned.
The headlines were presented without comment, so I guess the memorandum hadn’t yet arrived. Now that Peter has recovered that first stone, we can expect a barrage of outrage at the hiring of a person who did her time, made a public declaration of repentance (when nobody cared) and has a lot of experience that might actually encourage young people to think before acting on their rage. A lot of RWingers would probably gain by attending her classes.
Now, I was taught and remain convinced that prison should not be a hell-hole where legalized monsters turn other people into illegal monsters. Every effort should be made to turn the latter into law-abiding members of society: difficult but not impossible (as demonstrated by the case of Kathy Boudin.
Any host they go after for rhetoric/personal wrongdoing v. Rush Limbaugh.
Kanye West v. Glenn Beck on calling the president a racist.
Any celebrity drunk/slut v. Taylor “Does she go through beers or boys faster?!” Swift.
Mark Sanford v. Anthony Weiner on sex scandals.
Literally any sexist/racist/homophobic TV joke since 1999 that wasn’t told by Seth McFarlane against a TV joke that was.
On that last one? Seriously… One thing Fox Nation and I see eye-to-eye on is thinking McFarlane is basically TV’s Rush Limbaugh, except that he’s trying to claim it’s all an act. Unlike me, they worship him for getting away with it.
Anyhow… IOKIYAR, examples, yadda yadda yadda. I’m going to bed now.

Fox News Criticizes Rutgers For Firing Basketball Coach Who Bullied and Abused Players
By: Jason Easley Apr. 3rd, 2013
Rutgers University basketball coach Mike Rice was fired after video surfaced of him bullying and physically abusing his players. Fox News has responded by calling Rice’s firing a symptom of cultural free fall.
On Fox News’ The Five, Eric Bolling said, Well, they fired him obviously because the video got to ESPN, and a lot of people saw it. This story kind of infuriates me. We’re in the midst of political correctness crushing our ability to teach kids, to discipline kids, to disagree with culture, one another, or kids.

Fox News: doesn’t think a basketball coach who physically abused players should be fired . . . but completely loses it over a nearly 70 year old female professor who’s lived an exemplary life since being paroled in 2003 after serving 20 years.
Welcome to Planet Wingnut! Enjoy your stay!

I wonder has little pee Junior freaked out yet about Fox’s hiring of/consultation by convicted felons Ollie North, Tom DeLay, and G. Gordon Liddy . . .
