Bill O'Reilly, a 63 year old, devout Catholic, pro-life, right wing media character assassin and accused sexual harasser, is obsessed with lady parts. And like his fellow pro-life pals who seek control of lady parts not belonging to them, Bill believes that women are just too damned stupid, silly, and selfish to make decisions about late term abortions which, contrary to Bill's magical medical expertise, could be vital for the life and health of the woman. As he did with Dr. Tiller, O'Reilly is on a jihad against NY Governor Andrew Cuomo who is proposing legislation that would expand (in accordance with Roe) access to late term abortion to protect the woman's health. On Wednesday night, O'Reilly used the issue to buttress his "talking point" that America is becoming "barbaric." After ranting about it with Bob Beckel, he continued to rant in a subsequent Factor segment during which his trademark misogyny and ignorance of the facts were front and center in his patented all-spin zone!
Bill began by questioning why Americans are OK with a nanny state "that doesn't care about children" - a strange question, given that Bill hates "nanny" social welfare programs that benefit children whose mothers don't have abortions. The nanny state thing is also rather ironic given that Bill supports a nanny state, in the form of restrictive abortion law, to be inserted right up inside a woman's uterus. He wanted to know if he was "over the top" in his opinion that "we've become a barbaric nation." Powers agreed with what he had said in the previous Beckel segment. The perpetually puffed up O'Reilly sense of self importance was on display when he bragged about "getting to Beckel."
Bill again misrepresented the NJ case in which a woman was cleared of abuse and neglect charges stemming from the presence of cocaine traces in her newborn. He wanted to know who says it's OK to do "crack cocaine" 48 hours before birth. There was never any criminal finding that this woman had used "crack cocaine" and the child was not a "crack baby." He asserted that those who don't hold women in these situations accountable are from the left. (Meanwhile trans-vaginal probes are from the right!) He wanted to know how we should view Andrew Cuomo and the NJ Supreme Court Justices "most of them appointed by liberal governors." That Powers didn't understand the case was evident in her comment that somebody should have taken the baby after it was born. The child was removed at birth and returned after six months.
Bill then accused Andrew Cuomo of being a "barbarian." When Powers claimed that the health exception can't be defined, Bill claimed that he did define it "with the guy who was assassinated in Kansas, Tiller, we did define it very, very clearly. IT WAS ANYTHING." (Yep,can't trust those silly gals to be serious about abortion!)
Bill wanted to know what's wrong with New Yorkers who approve of Cuomo. Pro-life GOP spokesperson Kate Obenshaim whined about those who want government to help them. She lied about how feminism was founded on the belief that children are "impediments" and that women need to take responsibility for themselves rather than asking for government hand-outs. She agreed with Bill that the US is becoming a "barbaric nation." (And taking away the safety net for women who, due to right wing legislation that limits access to abortion, do give birth isn't barbaric?)
Powers criticized the NY Times for not describing late term abortion in their articles about Cuomo's proposed law. Bill, an anti-abortion zealot, described the NY Times, as "zealots" and whined about how, in the NJ case, the court said that the unborn child wasn't a person and should be killed. (Not the case at all but who needs facts!). Obenshaim worked in the standard (and debunked ) anti-abortion crazy talking point about how Pres. Obama never stood up for "born alive" babies. O'Reilly agreed.
So ladies, if your pregnancy is past 20 weeks and you have a serious health problem, Bill O'Reilly wants you to STFU and wait until the problem is so serious that you could die. If you're on the verge of suicide, Bill says suck it up and have that baby. If your fetus is seriously medically compromised, Bill says have that baby so it will face a short life of pain and suffering which you, of course, can offer up to Jesus. And if you get raped and don't discover the pregnancy until late in the pregnancy, Bill wants you to smile cuz you're going be a mommy. Here's the thing, ladies. Bill O'Reilly thinks that the health exception for abortion is a crock of crap and if you seek to use this, you're faking it because you're a stupid, silly, selfish barbaric bitch. He knows because he's looking out for you!!!!!
Nanny Statesman
After 40-odd years of observation of what has happened in Italy since abortion was legalised – is that the demand for any kind of abortion collapses if women are encouraged to feel comfortable with the whole idea of contraception. The Catholic (my own) church and poor information are the reasons for the continuing demand for abortion. Banning them has simply made the fortunes of practitionners who do them on the kitchen table.
In Italy, the rates at which hemorrhaging women were arriving (and dying) at the emergency rooms used to be considerably higher than the current rate of women undergoing abortions today.
That’s because – regardless of what those men in the flowing black robes say – Italian women are better informed and contraception is readily available under our universal health care system.
As my grannie (born 1888) once said: “The Pope is a man… he doesn’t understand what it means to have so many children” . She’d had 11 and was an active advocate of contraception within our very large extended family.
I wonder how many kids O’Reilly has and how he and his wife managed to keep the number down. Oh dear, could it be (horrors, shock!) that he is in the habit of paying prostitutes or harrassing his co-workers for sex?
The truth is- there really is never a reason to terminate a 7 month fetus. There is no medical reason to terminate a child could be delivered by c section and live a full life, adopted by someone who wants it.
Let’s not act like the NRA. There IS a difference between a pre 16 week abortion, and a a near-term abortion.
Amazing how long his wife stayed with him,but I have a feeling he bullied her in staying as long as she did in order to protect his ego.
I suspect he had the same pre-nup agreement that rush Limbaugh had with his wife where she agreed to stay 10 years before she filed for divorce after 10 years and 1 day!
I’m curious what the 10 year payoff was for Ms. McFillmee?
He has a very unhealthy attitude about women their bodies and the worth of them.Vile Bile is truly a vile man.
