Fox News Host And Panelists Cheerlead For Shutting Down Government

On Saturday’s (9/24/11) Bulls and Bears “cost of freedom” show, the gang discussed a possible government shutdown. Near the end, at about the 2:20 mark in our video, host Brenda Buttner asked in a silly, smarmy voice "Don't you think it might be kind of a good idea to shut down government?" She smiled broadly thereafter. Two other panelists agreed enthusiastically.

The person she was addressing, regular panelist Gary B. Smith, said, "Yeah. I really don't see the downside in all this. It's all like, ‘Oh my gosh, government going to shut down.’ Look government has to learn at some point to pay the bills. I think that's the bigger point here."

Panelist Bob Froehlich, of the Hartford, gave it his seal of approval. "Amen, amen."

If any of these people worked for the government or knew someone who did, what would they say then? How would Buttner and Smith like it if someone wanted to close Fox News? How would Froehlich like it if someone wanted to close The Hartford?
