Sarah Palin Lectures The Republican Presidential Candidates On How To Campaign

Reported by Ellen - September 21, 2011 -

Sarah Palin followed up her lecture for Warren Buffett last night with a lecture for the Republican presidential candidates. After a ploy to maintain her political relevancy the myth that she might yet run, Palin made her demands for the GOP slate. I suspect it’s going to go down about as well as if Rev. Wright announced a set of requirements for President Obama. Meanwhile, host Sean Hannity ignored Palin’s statement last month that she’d decide by September whether or not she’ll run and pretended it was still a big, intriguing mystery.

As I’ve previously posted, Fox News almost surely knows Palin will not run but it continues not only to pretend otherwise but to hype her mythical candidacy.

Hannity began this segment with the tease. Referring to Palin’s self-described “fire in the belly” for 2012, he asked, “Is it more than ever before? It’s becoming crunch time.”

“There is still time, Sean,” Palin said. “I’m still one of those still considering… knowing, Sean, how important it is that we get this country back on the right track.”

“We still await your decision,” Hannity said. “People ask me all the time what I think you’re gonna do and I vacillate, I can’t tell at different times.”

Well, maybe he can’t tell but anyone with a lick of savvy can. She’s not running. What she is interested in is staying relevant.

After just happening to mention that her name was in “the top three” in one of the GOP polls, Palin embarked on her demands for the candidates who are actually doing the heavy lifting of running.

They do need to talk about their experience, though, and I don’t want to hear as I said earlier, to hear rhetoric about them just putting up a fight against the crony capitalism or poor foreign policy decisions that have been made. I want to make sure that they have been effective in the past, to prove that they have a record that they can build upon, knowing that that could carry them forward for what we need in this country. I want to know what their successful track record is. They need to talk about that going into this debate.

…We need to make sure we’re not just switching up the uniform. We need a new team. We need a new game plan. That’s the only way that we’re gonna save our country.

Palin has already managed to antagonize a lot of key players and pundits in GOP politics, including Karl Rove and Ann Coulter. Once the nomination is secured, I’ll bet money she’ll be about as welcome in the general election as Rev. Wright. I wouldn’t be surprised if even Fox News ditched her.
