Fox News Airs Murdoch-Friendly Banners During Phone-Hacking Testimony To Parliament
Reported by Ellen - July 20, 2011 -
Yesterday, Fox News aired the complete testimony of Rupert and James Murdoch to a Parliamentary inquiry into their role in the News Corp. phone-hacking scandal. There was a minimum of commentary from Fox. But the “fair and balanced” network made up for it with its distinctly Murdoch-friendly banners. A sample after the jump.
The banners, compiled in the video below, read:
James Murdoch: Company acted as swiftly as possibleJames Murdoch: This is a matter of great regret
James Murdoch: We established group cooperating with police
Rupert Murdoch: I am more than prepared to testify
Rupert Murdoch: I was clearly misled
Rupert Murdoch: We have given all our knowledge to police
Rupert Murdoch: We were 100% cooperative with investigation
James Murdoch: This is a matter of huge, sincere regret
James Murdoch: Our company’s priority is to restore trust
These were just a sample of the banners that appeared throughout the Murdochs' appearance.
