Fox News Tweet Du Jour – The Jon Stewart and PolitiFact Edition

Reported by Aunty Em - June 22, 2011 -

The repercussions over Jon Stewart’s weekend visit to Fox “News” Sunday don’t seem to be stopping any time soon. As Ellen originally reported, Chris Wallace seemed to concede that Fox News was a propaganda station when he responded to Stewart’s claim the station wasn’t “Fair and Balanced” by saying, “I think we’re the counterweight… I think that they [the MSM] have a liberal agenda and I think we tell the other side of the story.” Stewart either read Ellen’s column, or figured it out on his own, because the next night he was making the very same point. However, The Daily Show audience had to wait until last night’s show before Stewart really unloaded on Fox “News.” First he did a mea culpa by noting how PolitiFact gave him a FALSE rating for saying that Fox News viewers were consistently the most misinformed. After his correction he wondered when Fox “News” would correct the record and began to detail all the various FALSE and PANTS ON FIRE ratings PolitiFact has given Fox “News” over the past few years. PolitiFact, obviously chastised, began tweeting earlier today, and lasting for several hours, confirmation of Stewart’s point.
