Your World “Celebrates” Health Care Reform Anniversary With Distorted Rant Against It

On Wednesday (3/23/11) Your World “celebrated” health care reform’s “birthday” by discussing a GOP group suing the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services over health care waiver documents. Judge Andrew Napolitano, who has already proven to be a passionate opponent of health care reform, was the sole guest.

Toward the end of the discussion, Napolitano said about the Act, "It has imposed such a burden on small businesses, on labor unions, on even people that supported the President that really don't want to have anything to do with it. It is so burdensome, so expensive, so regulatory, takes away so much freedom, invades so much privacy."

He continued on an exercised rant about how doctors put patient information into a database for a “federal bureaucrat.” Nobody mentioned how much patient information goes into a database for an insurance company bureaucrat now – if you’re lucky enough to have insurance, that is.

Cavuto said with semi-seriousness, "You seem upset."

Napolitano joked back. "I don't like it. Do you have to guess at that?"

In case viewers didn’t get the anti-health care reform message, Cavuto enthused, "He's been way ahead of the curve on this."

Comment: The Center For American Progress published an issues brief countering some of the kind of charges Napolitano and others have made. CAP shows how the Act lowers premiums and costs for families, has enabled more small businesses to provide health care coverage for their employees and cuts the deficit.

I think the Judge is behind the curve, if you ask me.
