Glenn Beck Was For Economic Terrorism Before He Was Against It
Reported by Aunty Em - March 25, 2011 -
As Glenn Beck’s ratings continue to tank, and with open talk that Fox “News” might not renew his contract this December, the Historian Emeritus of Beck U keeps soldiering on at his chalkboard. Beck continues to draw equations in order to find his Unified Conspiracy Theory—much like Albert Einstein spent the latter part of his life at chalkboards trying to find a Unified Field Theory—in order to link every evil actor in the world working together in concert to collapse the system and bring on the inevitable New World Order that will result. When the unrest began in the Middle East he thought he was almost there: Communists, Socialists, Marxists, The Muslim Brotherhood, The White House, Code Pink, etcetera, so forth and so on, are going to work in concert to bring chaos to the Middle East in order to drive a stake through the heart of everything Beck and good, decent Americans holds dear. However, there was still something missing—there were holes in Beck’s theory that required plugging before he could announce his Eureka moment. So this week he added a new wrinkle: Economic Terrorism. And, with no degrees of separation, he managed to make it a plot hatched by an evil cabal operating at the White House—even, GASP!, inside the Oval Office itself.
Beck played some audio of who he identified as former-SEIU employee Stephen Lerner speaking at a small gathering of leftists. In Beckistania Lerner outlined a MASSIVE secret plot (laid right out at a public meeting) for people to rise up against the power brokers, bankers, and other financial institutions and bring them to the brink of financial collapse, leading to a New World Order and everything unholy. In the real world Lerner's views are held by only by a small fringe on the left. However, you might be asking, “How does Glenn Beck connect someone espousing fringe political theory with a secret White House cabal planning this economic terrorism?”
BECK: OK. When you listen to the whole thing -- I'm telling you, it's much worse than this.
So, here are the facts: we have an influential labor leader with ties—he may still be working at SEIU. We cannot get SEIU to verify. We think he's no longer with them—ties to SEIU.
He has had at least four White House visits, Stephen Lerner has. We assume it's the same guy. We cannot get anyone at the White House to verify either today.
Visits to the U.S. Treasury. We have one in December of 2010. He met with Elizabeth Warren. Remember, she takes care of all the little banks.
Visits to the U.S. treasury. This has been verified.
They're targeting JPMorgan Chase. They want to disrupt New York City. And you'll see on the tape, the whole tape, that he talks about 10 other states as well.
He wants to create a mortgage strike. Plus, he talks on the longer tape of also getting students to not pay their student bills back to trigger a financial crisis.
He wants to crash the New York Stock Exchange and create instability. A unique form of domestic terrorism, a clear and present danger to economic stability of the country? You decide. You decide.
And, just to make the point that this goes all the way to the top, Beck, with that ‘poke in the eye’ sense of humor he’s known for, teases, “Now, listen—listen to the rest of his [Lerner’s] plan,” but instead plays a teeny-tiny clip of then-presidential candidate Barack Obama on the stump: “I spent my entire adult life working with SEIU. I'm not a newcomer to this.”
However, here’s the thing: Beck was promoting a similar sort of economic terrorism a little under 2 years ago when he hosted a discussion with Nobel Prize winner for Economics, Craig T. Nelson. What’s that? You sure? Tee Vee Actor Craig T. Nelson? From Coach? Really? Well, that aside, according to Media Matters:
On the May 28, 2009, episode of Glenn Beck, Beck had an interview with actor Craig T. Nelson who told Beck he was "really thinking about" not paying taxes anymore because "there are programs that they're asking me to fund that I refuse to fund."
Later in the program, discussing programs for "saving the sea otters," Nelson said that "people who want to save them should pay for them" and asked, "if I don't want to save the sea otters—is that anarchy?" Beck responded: "No! This is American." He added, "I think you're the first person I have heard that is expressing the way I feel that you get to a point where, enough, I'll go to jail. I will go to jail before I pay you another dime for this insanity."
While it doesn’t sound much like Beck was offering full-throated support for Nelson’s illegal economic terrorism, by the next day it was clear he had done much thinking on the topic. MMfA quotes him again:
You know, I think there's probably a better role model for "Coach" than Howard Beale. It might be Gandhi. Gandhi said, "Withholding payment of taxes is one of the quickest methods of overthrowing a government," and it makes common sense. Starving them out of trillions of your hard-earned dollars would literally put them out of business.
But do Americans want to do that? Do Americans who want to do that have the guts to follow Gandhi's example in order to save children, our grandchildren, our great-great-great-grandchildren from all of this insane debt.
Meet Glenn Beck: Economic Terrorist and hypocrite.
