Bill O'Reilly Defames Dr. Tiller & Is Taking "Note" Of Rachel Maddow?
Reported by Priscilla - February 25, 2011 -
Bill O'Reilly still hates Dr. George Tiller, an abortion doctor who was murdered by a man who hated Dr. Tiller and abortion as much as O'Reilly does. O'Reilly hated Tiller so much that he went on a jihad against him in which he accused the good doctor of being a "baby killer" on many occasions. Bill's "fair & balanced" campaign against Tiller, which won him a "Courage Award" from the Family Research Council hate group, consisted of segments in which O'Reilly interviewed Tiller's enemies in order to reinforce the anti-choice attacks that were being made against Tiller by radical anti-choice groups. And during Bill's "courageous" campaign, he interviewed, on "The Factor, the former Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline who was investigating Tiller. Kline validated Bill's premise, based on confidential records that O'Reilly claimed he had, that Tiller was evading the law by providing abortions to women who were just having a bad hair day and by not reporting statutory rape. Kline (a "pro-life hero") is now being investigated by the Kansas Board for Discipline of Attorneys for ethics violations among them discussing his investigation on "The Factor." The anti-choice zealots are claiming that Kline is the victim of a "witch-hunt" and Bill has joined forces with them. Last week, he and Megyn Kelly (quelle surprise) agreed that it was a "witch-hunt." This week, in addition to the ongoing "witch hunt" theme, it appears that MSNBC's Rachel Maddow received a Bill O'Reilly wag of the finger!
Last night, he and Kelly discussed - no, not the mishandling of confidential records regarding Tiller's client (which O'Reilly claims to have accessed) or the fact that Kline told the KA Supreme Court that he wasn't interested in the identities of Tiller's clients while "running down" license plates of cars at the clinics - no, they talked about how Kline's records show that Tiller wasn't reporting statutory rape - a topic that's hot in the anti-choice world especially after Lila Rose's "sting videos" which purport to show that Planned Parenthood did the same thing. But what was interesting was Bill's admonition (threat?) to "media organizations" that "glorify" Tiller. Rachel Maddow, whose documentary about the Tiller assassination mentioned Bill O'Reilly as a purveyor of anti-choice hate, did several recent segments (from Kansas) about Kline's harassment and intimidation tactics, cited in the ethics complaint, as an "anti-abortion inquisition." So, is the ethically challenged Bill O'Reilly, who claims that Kansas is "going after" Kline, going after Maddow? As Bill was not specific, I guess we won't know until he tells us.
On last night's Factor, Bill reported that Kline's license could be revoked because of his conduct in the Tiller/Planned Parenthood case. O'Reilly did say that Tiller was murdered in a "horrifying crime." He then played a video in which he interviewed a woman who claimed she went to Tiller when she was 13. (Of course, there is no way of verifying this). Kelly, who has also disparaged Tiller, said that during the ethics hearing Kline "revealed" that he found 166 instances in which underage girls got abortions from Tiller and Planned Parenthood and only two cases of child rape were reported. Kelly claimed that Planned Parenthood's view of mandatory reporting, which differed from Kline's, was upheld by a federal judge. Judge O'Reilly said the "credulity" is "strained" when only two cases were reported. O'Reilly soul sister Kelly agreed and added that the judge in the federal case said that mandatory reporting must occur in cases of incest and sexual abuse of an underage girl. Judge O'Reilly declared Tiller and Planned Parenthood guilty of not doing that "and "that's why Kline went after him and why the state is going after Kline." (Wrong Bill, it's the way that Kline "went after" him.) Bill then launched into a bizarre monologue: "We reported this story very fairly here, kay, we reported it fairly. The assassination of Tiller, disgraceful, never should have happened in America." Wagging his finger he proclaimed, "There are media organizations that are glorifying George Tiller, making him to be a martyr, is disgusting." Kelly said "it's not right what happened to him; but it is not right to ignore what he was doing. I don't care where you stand on abortion..." Bill interrupted, "he became a multimillionaire, multimillionaire doing it." She continued "you are talking about young girls..." Bill said "you bet." She continued "29, 28, 25 week pregnancies." (Right Megyn, young girls whose bodies would have been destroyed by giving birth - that's really pro-life, ain't it!). Bill said "That's right, when you hear a media organization glorifying Tiller, just take note."
Comment: I don't know if O'Reilly is referring to Maddow; but it's more than coincidence that he made his pronouncement after her show that dealt with Kline's alleged malfeasance. I watched Maddow's videos. Maddow dealt with the extraordinary ways in which Tiller's staff dealt with safety concerns - something you'll never hear from Bill O'Reilly. Her reporter discussed, with Tiller's attorney, the tactics of intimidation (including subpoenaing hotel records) used by Phill Kline. I didn't hear any "glorification" other than how Tiller provided a legal service which is no longer available in Wichita because of the harassment encountered by any doctor who wants to replace Tiller. Maddow's reporting of the issue at hand, the ethics complaints, underscores how Bill O'Reilly DID NOT report this story "fairly." O'Reilly totally ignores the substance of the allegations and focuses on allegations that Kline is currently making about Tiller - allegations that have not been proven but are being used to further promote the anti-choice jihad against Planned Parenthood and a woman's right to an abortion - a cause that Bill O'Reilly continues to aid and abet. Word to Bill O'Reilly - Tiller is a hero and despite your "Courage Award," you aren't and never will be! If he made millions, he made them helping people. You're making your millions by spreading scum.
