Pence Misinforms About Effects Of Health Care Reform Repeal On The Deficit And Varney Lets Him

On the February 16, 2011 edition of Your World, Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) lied about the effects of a repeal of last year's health care reform bill. Host Stuart Varney asked, "The President says if we have full implementation of ObamaCare, it is going to reduce the deficit. Is that correct?"

Pence responded, "When we voted the first few weeks of the year about repealing ObamaCare, actually Democrats were saying that it was going to cost taxpayers money. Only in Washington, D.C. could you repeal a trillion dollar program and be told that it was going to cost you money."

Guess what, Mike? According to The Christian Science Monitor, the Congressional Budget Office says the repeal would raise the deficit by $230 billion from 2012 to 2021. Pence lied and Varney didn’t correct it, of course.
